The RS7 was first introduced in 2014 in India. The older generation of RS7 offered a 4.0-liter twin-turbo engine that produced 553 bhp of power and 700 nm of torque equipped with an 8-speed automatic torque converter gearbox and Quattro AWD. But it looked very similar to the older generation A7 which depending on your point of view can be good or bad.
The new RS7 has many features to offer. Some of which are, Audi’s virtual cockpit, all new updated Air Suspension system which is better than the previous generation, 705W B&O 16 speaker audio system, 21-inch alloy wheels (22-inch optional), single frame honeycomb grille, powered liftback tailgate, optional LED Matrix headlamps, and sunroof.
The RS7 has a 3996CC twin-turbo petrol engine that produces 600bhp and 800 nm of torque and is coupled with an 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
Optional torque-vectoring rear differential makes a difference to the handling when it is being pushed hard. It gives more sporty handling while at high speed or while cornering.
The Rear-wheel steering helps manoeuvre with ease in city traffic as well as in parking the vehicle. The Rear-wheel steering turns the front and rear wheels in the opposite directions at 5 degrees while driving at a low speed of up to 60 km/h. While driving at high speed or more than 60 km/h the front and rear wheels turn in the same direction to support stability and greater handling.
Some of the better optional features that RS7 offers are; Matrix LED headlamps with laser light, Four-wheel steering, Panoramic Sunroof, ventilated front seats. And with additional exciting features like front seats massage function, heated front, and rear seats, hands-free parking, ceramic brakes, torque-vectoring rear differential, and 22-inch alloys.

One of the most practical, thrilling, and performance-packed sedans from Audi, the RS7, has been given a makeover. The all-new Audi RS7 Sportback has a bolder, sharper, and more aggressive look as compared to the older 2016 version. The 2021 RS7 now looks more aggressive in terms of design and has a lot of exciting new features. Those who love performance-packed cars but also need a practical family sedan would find a better car than the RS7.
VAG (Volkswagen Audi Group) has always been at the top of the list in terms of build quality and technology, its German Tech oriented cars are much safer, more reliable, and luxurious. The RS7 is amongst the more luxurious, performance-packed, sports sedans Audi has to offer. It is mainly known for its performance and also for being a performance-packed family car to manoeuvre around with the family. It is a top-of-the-line sedan in terms of luxury and technology. For the rear passengers, there is plenty of knee room and headroom.
Audi’s designers are famous for having an eye for details, and it appears that Audi has put a lot of effort into the design and other technology-. The RS7 comes equipped with auto LED headlamps, a big honeycomb grille, massive 21-inch alloy wheels, an Alcántara finish interior with a touch of carbon fibre, and much more. One can make the most of the 600hp all thanks to Quattro all-wheel-drive technology.
The RS7 comes with only one engine option but what a great engine it is. Its 591 bhp, 3996 CC, 6-cylinder petrol engine produces 800 nm of torque mated to an automatic transmission. Its primary rivals are the BMW M5 Competition, the AMG GT 63S 4-door. It is priced at Rs. 1.94 Crore (ex-showroom). Tango red metallic, Daytona Gray Pearlescent, Floret Silver Metallic, Nardo Grey, Sebring Black Crystal Effect, Glacier white Metallic, Myth Black Metallic, and Navarra Blue Metallic are the various colours offered for the Audi RS7 Sportback.

Practical, fun, safe family sedan. RS7 is extremely powerful, Quattro AWD, with a twin-turbo petrol engine and can also accommodate a family of 4 with ample luggage as it is a 5 door liftback style sedan.
Powered liftback tailgate. Having a powered liftback tailgate allows the users to load and unload luggage more easily and efficiently from the large boot.
Luxurious and spacious. Alcántara finished leather seats, a touch of carbon fiber in the interior, front massage seats make it a delight.
Aggressive appearance. The RS7 has an elegant design with sharp tweaks, a single-frame front honeycomb grille, air vents, 22-inch alloys, matrix headlamps, rear twin exhausts, and bumper give the sedan a great look.
Audi is famous for its high-quality fit and finish and the RS7 doesn’t disappoint. Everything in the car feels premium and built to last.
The BMW M5 Competition which is more fun to drive and almost as practical is almost Rs. 40 Lakhs cheaper than the RS7.
Matrix headlamps, sunroof, ventilated front seats shouldn’t have been optional as these features are standard in much cheaper cars.
Famously unreliable after-sales support all over India.
Designing a car is an art and the RS7 is a Masterpiece. Be it the older generation or the current. The RS7 has always been the amongst top-performing luxury sports sedans. There are a few flaws that we discussed earlier but overall, it is a great car in terms of build and ride quality. If you like cars that are packed with performance but also want a practical safe family sedan then RS7 is a good match for you. Optional add-ons like 22-inch alloys, four-wheel steering, torque-vectoring rear differential, etc. are suggested to improve the driving experience. So, one must consider opting for such add-ons.
The RS7 provides a top-notch driving experience and features. The comfort offered by this car is equally good, but one thing that makes it different from the A7 is its powerful engine.
It is equipped with many interesting features like the torque-vectoring rear differential that makes the handling much better. It evenly distributes the torque in the wheels while driving in a straight direction. While at curves, it senses the wheel that needs more torque and sends in torque to the wheel. So torque-vectoring rear differential plays a major role when it comes to the handling of the car. Talking about the Four-wheel steering; It senses the speed and turns the rear wheels in the opposite direction when the speed is less than 60 km/h and turns the rear wheels in the same direction when the speed is more than 60 km/h.
So, the biggest con of the Audi RS7 is that it is almost Rs. 40 Lakhs more expensive than the BMW M5 Competition. If you want a powerful car, have aggressive looks, and want to stand out of the crowd RS7 is the right pick. If you want to tweak the performance according to your driving style and don’t care much about the looks, BMW M5 Competition is the one you must opt for.
