The 2020 new Honda City has just been launched. The new model has gone on sale in three variants – V, VX and ZX. The three variants will be offered on all three powertrain configurations – petrol-manual, petrol-automatic and diesel-manual. Prices of the new model start at INR 10.9 lakh (ex-showroom) and go all the way to INR 14.65 lakh (ex-showroom). In India, the fuel economy or, as we call it, mileage, is something that is a huge deciding factor when buying a new car. The new Honda City doesn’t disappoint in this regard as it offers a great fuel efficiency from both its engine options. While the petrol-manual variant provides ARAI-rated fuel efficiency of 17.8 km/l, the petrol-CVT model offers 18.4 km/l. The diesel-manual model offers 24.1 kmpl.

The all-new 2020 Honda City has gone on sale with two engine options, a 1.5-litre iVTEC petrol and a 1.5-litre iDTEC diesel. These BSVI-compliant motors are available with a six-speed manual transmission each. However, the petrol engine is even available with an optional automatic transmission in the form of a CVT with paddle-mounted shifters. The gasoline motor is a new unit that comes with a DOHC head and goes on to produce a maximum power of 121 PS at 6,600 rpm and a peak torque of 145 Nm at 4,300 rpm. The diesel motor, on the other hand, is a refreshed version of the engine available on the previous City. The 1.5-litre diesel produces a maximum power of 100 PS at 3,600 rpm and a peak torque of 200 Nm at 1,750 rpm. T
