Earlier today, Tata Motors, the homegrown SUV specialist, unveiled the third-gen Safari. Basically, the 2021 Tata Safari is a bigger version of the Harrier but if the carmaker is to be believed, enough has been done to impart the essence of the original SUV to the Harrier-based model. Like the donor vehicle, the new Safari is designed as per the Impact 2.0 theme and is built on the Land Rover D8-derived OMEGARC platform. The new Safari will launch next month and will become the flagship SUV from Tata Motors. It will share aplenty with the Harrier but will offer more in terms of space and features. Powering the new model will be the same Kryotec 2.0-litre Turbocharged diesel motor that outputs 170PS of maximum power and 350 Nm of peak torque. Even the transmission options remain the same.
