Read on for a list of the six best luxury cars launching in India in 2022.
Audi India has started production on the facelifted version of the Q7, which is expected to hit the market in 2022. The Audi Q7 has long been India’s most popular three-row luxury SUV. However, sales of the Audi Q7 were halted in early 2020 due to the significant impact of BS6 emission standards.
With its massive dimensions, the aggressive and intimidating design of the 2022 Q7 makes a statement. This new variant, like its sibling Volkswagen automobile groups in India, will only be available with a petrol engine. The new Audi Q7 version with a facelift is powered with a 3-liter turbocharged V6 petrol churning out 340 horses with a whopping 500Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and Audi’s famed Quattro all-wheel-drive technology. A 48V mild-hybrid system on the motor allows for up to 40 seconds of coasting when the engine is switched off.
The Q7 Facelift has a redesigned octagonal grille with six vertical chrome slats, revised bumpers, slimmer Matrix LED headlights with distinctive LED DRLs, massive 20-inch alloy wheels, and body-cladding all-around, among other changes. Electronic features have also got a revamp with the new touchscreen infotainment system of 10.1-inch, an 8.6-inch temperature control screen, a digital instrument cluster of 12.3-inch, a panoramic roof, etc.
With these Q4 siblings, the Q4 e-tron and Q4 e-tron Sportback are set to lead the company’s EV fleet in the country and fulfill the company’s aspirations in the luxury electric-vehicle space by late 2022. Optional all-wheel drive and a 295-hp dual-motor system are available, but the standard powertrain is a single 201-hp electric motor with a 77.0-kWh battery pack. The battery pack is expected to give up to 250 miles of driving range per charge. When the Q4 e-tron variants go on the market, they will compete with other compact electric SUVs like the Tesla Model Y and the Volvo XC40 Recharge.
Mercedes-Benz has decided to embark on its electrified future with the sedan 2022 Mercedes-Benz EQS. It is also known as one of the fanciest EVs ever. It’s also recognised as one of the most luxurious electric vehicles ever. Its aerodynamically built shape has resulted in a curvy body that readily glides through, maximizing efficiency. The large EV car is available with a 329-horsepower rear-drive motor (EQS450+) or a 516-horsepower all-wheel-drive system (EQS580 4Matic). Both of them are powered by a 107.8 kWh battery and come in single-motor and dual-motor variants, with a range of around 770 kilometres.
The new model of the 2022 BMW i4 is the company’s next launch of an EV fleet. BMW i4 has used the same body style as the gas-powered 4 Series Gran Coupe and hasn’t deviated from the BMW fleet. It doesn’t make a big deal about yelling, “I’m electric!” A “Gran Coupe” is a four-door coupe body style with a liftback trunk design under BMW nomenclature. It comes in two models: the eDrive 40 and the M50. The former has 344 PS of peak power and a driving range of 590 kilometers, while the latter has 551 PS of peak power but a shorter range of 510 kilometers. Both models are powered by an 83.9 kWh battery. Because after electrifying the car, engine cooling was necessary, BMW did not want to remove the grille and wanted the i4 to retain its recognizable family design.
Land Rover has debuted the premium Range Rover, the fifth iteration of its SUV class, after a lengthy wait. Before its global market introduction in spring of next year, the new Range Rover underwent a five-year, seven-million-hour testing procedure. There are a variety of engine options available, including petrol and diesel and mild-hybrid technology on select models. The new Range Rover is slated to hit Indian showrooms before the end of 2022.
The addition of a large gloss black panel at the rear, which incorporates vertical brake lights on the side and indicators in a bar across the top, all of which are invisible when not in use, is the most obvious differentiator. This new setup will become a Range Rover “signature,” implying that it will feature on the next-generation Evoque, Range Rover Sport, and any Velar replacement in the future. Each headlight cluster has 1.2 million individual mirrors that reflect light from a rear-mounted mirror, while the taillights are supposed to feature the most powerful LEDs in existence.
One of the most awaited luxury car from the German Auto Marquee, Mercedes Benz. The luxury car is all set to bring its show-stopper, the Maybach S-Class, soon to India. This Maybach S-Class prioritizes comfort and space and has some extra space that goes towards making the rear seats as spacious as possible. The stand-out features of this Mercedes class are the new grille, alloy wheels, larger rear doors, and an ultra-luxurious cable. This Maybach S-Class is set to launch in early 2022 with a price range of Rs.2.08 crores.
