Originally, Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL), the local subsidiary of the South Korean car giant, planned to launch the third generation of the Elite i20 in the first half of the ongoing calendar year. The new car was scheduled to make its public debut at the 2020 Geneva Motor Show but the ongoing pandemic led to the quashing of the original plans. The new i20 did make its debut, albeit, online and its launch in the Indian market has also suffered from the postponement. The new i20 will now go on sale only around this year’s festive season.

Also, until now, all the pictures of the 2020 Hyundai i20 that we have seen were either the studio shots released by the carmaker or ones with a lot of camouflage. Now, however, we finally have a set of pictures that show the all-new car running on a public road in all its glory. From the looks of it, the new-gen i20 is a stunner and looks absolutely handsome in these pictures.

If we talk about the exterior design, it becomes important to mention that Hyundai has thoroughly revamped the exterior of the i20 and the third-generation model looks even bolder than the already stylish second-gen car. The front-end gets a bigger grille, while the headlamps look sleeker and sharper. The car also features a sportier set of bumpers and a very bold surface treatment of the sheet metal across the body. The LED taillamps are quite bold, too, and are connected through a red reflector strip.
The interior is also quite upmarket and looks modern enough with a stylish dashboard that features an all-digital instrument cluster and an 8-inch infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The European version even gets a 10.25-inch unit along with ambient lighting setup but these features could be reserved for an introduction on the Indian model at a later stage.
