A few days back, Audi India, the local subsidiary of the Ingolstadt-based premium carmaker, teased the Audi RS Q8, its flagship SUV, for the first time ever. And now, after a wait of a few days, the car manufacturer has finally launched the Audi RS Q8 in the Indian market. The new performance-focused SUV has gone on sale with a price tag of Rs 2.07 crore. Bookings for the new model have been underway for a while and one can place an order of this model for a token amount of Rs 15 lakh. The RS Q8 is the fastest, most powerful, and the sportiest Audi SUV ever.
Compared to the regular Q8, the RS model looks a lot sportier because of the several cosmetic updates it carries. These include an updated octagonal single-frame honeycomb grille with a glossy black finish, large size side air intakes, body-coloured RS-spec racing strips, RS-spec roof-mounted spoiler, RS-spec oval-shaped tailpipes, RS Matrix LED headlamps and LED rear combination lamps with 3D signature DRLs.
As we said, the Audi RS Q8 is the most powerful SUV in the product lineup of its carmaker. Powering the SUV is a 4.0-litre, twin-turbocharged V8 petrol engine that produces a maximum power of 600 hp and a peak torque of 800 Nm. The motor sends all the power to all four wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission that works in tandem with the company’s Quattro all-wheel-drive system. In comparison to the regular Q8, the RS model is a lot faster and a lot sportier, which is totally due to the several mechanical and cosmetic updates it carries. As per the company, the Audi RS Q8 can sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in just 3.8 seconds. The performance-focused SUV is capable of hitting a top speed of 250 kmph. Also, the SUV can be upgraded with an optional dynamic pack of 304 kmph.
All the updates that the Audi RS Q8 carries over the regular model makes it a lot costlier than the donor model. As we said, the new model costs Rs 2.07 crore (ex-showroom, pan-India). In comparison, the regular model costs Rs 1.34 crore (ex-showroom, pan-India). However, the huge performance bump that the RS version offers over the standard model makes it worth every penny. In India, the Audi RS Q8 will rival the likes of Porsche Cayenne Turbo Coupe and Lamborghini Urus. Stay tuned for prices and more details of the new model. Deliveries of the new model are expected to start next month.
