Best known for his work in the blockbuster film franchise Baahubali, Prabhas is well-known for his love of luxury cars. With an estimated net worth of over USD 15 million, the actor has an enviable collection of high-end cars. His garage has been home to a Jaguar XJR, a BMW X3, a Range Rover, and a Rolls-Royce Phantom VII. However, Prabhas has now brought home a Lamborghini Aventador S Roadster, estimated to be worth over Rs 6 Crore. According to some reports, the South Indian celebrity was keen on getting this particular bull for a while. The delivery of the supercar came through on his father’s birthday, making the whole deal that much more memorable.
Finished in a striking Arancio Argos color, the actor’s Lamborghini Aventador S Roadster will not go unnoticed wherever he goes. Then again, no one purchases a bright orange Lamborghini to go under the radar. In its Roadster avatar, the Aventador S looks that much more ravishing and exotic. Also, being an open-top convertible, the Baahubali star can enjoy the thrill of driving his Lambo with the vast canvas of the sky above, forming the perfect backdrop. Usually, convertible versions of any car weigh more than their coupe counterparts – that’s true for the Aventador S Roadster, too. Compared to the standard Coupe, the Roadster is bulkier by 50 kg. On the other hand, the removable carbon-fiber panels used in the Roadster weigh less than 6 kg.
Moreover, it is not like the Aventador S Roadster is underpowered or anything. Its 6.5-liter V12 engine might be older than some countries and is still naturally aspirated, but don’t let that fool you. This volcano of a powerplant kicks out 730hp and 690Nm of torque, all of which find their way to all four tires via a 7-speed robotized manual gearbox. While this robotized manual (or AMT) gearbox isn’t as advanced or crisp as modern-day dual-clutch systems, it is still capable of shifting between cogs in just 50 milliseconds! For reference, it takes 100 milliseconds (twice as much time) for us to blink an eye.
Switch it to Corsa mode, and the Lamborghini Aventador S Roadster will go from 0 to 100 kmph in 3.0 seconds, dead. Furthermore, despite its higher curb weight, this open-top Lambo will have no trouble hitting a top speed of 350 kmph – the same as the Coupe.
While Prabhas may never come really close to his supercar’s top speed, it is good to know where all that money went. Of course, the insanely high import duty and taxes don’t do anything to add to the performance. There are no photos of the interior of the actor’s Aventador S Roadster, but you can bet that it looks cool.
Depending on how much money Prabhas spent over and above the car’s sticker price, the interior of the Aventador S Roadster is a special place, indeed. Lamborghini will happily customize the car according to what its customer wants, especially when it comes to the interior. High-quality materials include everything from supple leather with contrast stitching & piping to carbon fiber and alcantara on almost every surface.
The two-seat layout of the cabin means that the actor can always take someone along for a ride in his Lamborghini. However, if he were to be really pummeling it, his passenger may not really be able to hear anything except for the gusting wind and the roaring V12 engine. Then again, what’s a Lamborghini without all that drama and excitement, eh?
