Not everything that is mentioned here is a boring commuter machine. Here, we have a sporty scooter in the form of TVS Ntorq 125. It is the most feature-laden and funkiest looking scooter in the market today. However, with the BS6 transition, the scooter lost some of its explosive power delivery as certain owners were not happy with the low mileage of the Ntorq. The best part of the Fascino is that it is just 99 kg heavy making it easy to flick in the congested city traffic. Apart from easy manoeuvring ability, the scooter returns are high mileage of 57 km per litre in the real-world riding conditions. Not only that, you can also get a fuel efficiency of 64 km per litre on the highways. That’s a huge number for any 125cc bike in the Indian market.

In the BS6 upgrade, Yamaha equipped the Fascino with idle-stop technology which is similar to that of Hero’s i3S and Honda’s eSP tech. In the features department, the Fascino lacks. There is only a basic instrument panel with analogue speedometer, odometer and a fuel gauge. You don’t even get an analogue trip meter which comes handy while riding. Even the headlights are all basic halogen units. Yamaha should have given an option for a better instrument cluster and LED headlights for a small premium but the company avoided the same as of now.

In the safety front, the company has provided an option for choosing a disc brake unit for front-wheel as drum brakes don’t offer much braking force. There is a combined braking system integrated into the Fascino which works like charm in stopping the scooter safely to a halt.

Hero Maestro 125 is a premium commuter scooter in the Hero’s line-up. It is positioned way above the Destini 125 scooter which is a basic entry level family scooter. The BS6 version of the Maestro 125 doesn’t get any new feature to lure customers in.

With a kerb weight of 111 kg, the performance remains of the brighter side.
