With only 500 examples allotted for the entire planet, the Bugatti Chiron is one of the most exclusive automobiles. First unveiled back in 2016, the Chiron replaced the Veyron, and before even the first one could be delivered, 200 units were already sold. As for the Pur Sport, it is even rarer – only 60 of these amazing machines will ever be made. This means that it took Bugatti a further five years to finish manufacturing the 300th Chiron. The milestone car was, in fact, a Chiron Pur Sport finished in Bugatti’s exclusive Nocturne exterior shade. Basically, it is a deep glossy black color, but that won’t sound remotely as exotic as ‘Nocturne’, would it?
This being a multi-million-dollar Bugatti, customers don’t just purchase one as seen in the brochure and drive off. Oh, absolutely not. With almost endless customization on offer, Chiron customers are urged to let their minds (and wallet) run wild. In this case, the recipient of the 300th Chiron Pur Sport went for the Nocturne exterior color option.
To add more pizzazz to the already-striking hypercar, this particular example gets the Grey Carbon finish on the trademark horseshoe front grille, windshield wipers, mirror housings, and mirror arms. There are touches of what Bugatti calls “Gris Rafale” on the logo, plus a special Gun Powder finish on the marque’s signature C-line on the sides and tail lamp bezels at the back.
Obviously, the Chiron Pur Sport’s exterior has lots of carbon-fiber panels and trim pieces all around. Unlike on the regular Chiron, the Pur Sport comes with a fixed carbon-fiber rear wing for added downforce and less weight.
Meanwhile, the custom Interior Package on this particular Pur Sport gets it a “Beluga Black” finish on all of the leather and Alcantara surfaces. This is then contrasted by the aforementioned Gris Rafale shade and, as a tribute to Ettore Bugatti’s younger brother Rembrandt, there is a drawing of a dancing elephant on the headrests. Of course, the Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport’s interior doesn’t have even a single atom of any cheap material. If it did, the elite clientele would likely file lawsuits against Bugatti.
Commenting on this unique hypercar’s unveiling was Stephan Winkelmann, President of Bugatti. He stated,
“Bugatti stands for the most extraordinary, most powerful and most elegant hyper sports cars in the world. With the now 300th vehicle produced, we are again showing our competence in quality and customization. The Chiron Pur Sport is guaranteed to give customers pleasure. In addition to its unbelievable driving performance, it combines highest engineering and design skill as well as superb craftsmanship.”
Under the all-carbon fiber cover of the Chiron Pur Sport sits Bugatti’s famous 8.0-liter quad-turbo W16 engine. In the Pur Sport, this powerplant is capable of revving all the way up to 6,900 rpm and produces a whopping 1,479hp along with 1,600Nm of torque. Bugatti has also tweaked the 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox specifically for the Pur Sport, so it now features 15 percent shorter ratios. This has the effect of speeding up gear changes, which is great when you are ripping around a race track. Moreover, the shorter ratios also mean that the Pur Sport can go from 0 to 100 kmph in just 2.3 seconds and 300 kmph in less than 12 seconds! While Bugatti is not vulgar enough to divulge the exact price of this milestone Chiron, the cost of the Pur Sport (sans any customization) stands at 3 million euros.
