Green mobility, or as they say, efficient mobility is no longer seen just as the next ‘big wave’ slated to hit the car industry and a user-baser measuring in millions around the planet. The dominant discourse of our time is here and now, above anything, more important than it has ever been in the past. But you also get a sense that green mobility is now more accessible, being sure of its everydayness when someone like Maruti Suzuki announces big plans about what lies in its future; with regards to the very necessary paradigm shift that’s evident in today’s cars.
And for that, one needn’t scroll beyond the relevant example of the forthcoming AutoExpo 2020, where Maruti Suzuki, it is confirmed, is banking on electric-cars.
Not one or two, but a whopping 17 cars from the stable of the famous carmaker are expected to be unveiled at one of the most illustrious auto exhibits in the country, slated to kick off on February 7, 2020.
It’s been revealed that the signature Auto exhibit, that bridges the gap between the car-makers and a sprawling audience with a sense of elegance as only it can, will unveil some exciting electric cars from one of India’s most widely-popular automakers.
Among the highly-anticipated ‘yet-to-arrive’ machines include the “Futuro-e”, the all-electric couple-style concept car from Maruti Suzuki.
In fact, in an age where the term electric car is no longer some fancy idea brewing in the imagination of fancy entrepreneurs but a very incessant need- given all the beating the climate has taken- Maruti Suzuki is going several steps ahead, not restricting itself to the much talked about domain of electric vehicles.
So what’s on offer, you might wonder?
Well, the company also plans to showcase its CNG and Hybrid models, in addition to holding the global premiere of its electric-coupe style Futuro-e!
At the same time, among the other offerings at the impending AutoExpo 2020 will be the famous Facelift version of the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and the Ignis Facelift.
But one wonders, what might be the other plans the brand will unveil for its one-of-a-kind exhibit?
On that note, it’s vital to know the insights shared by Mr. Kenichi Ayukawa, Managing Director & CEO, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, “The key highlight of the 15th edition of the Auto Expo is our resolve to bring greener technologies for mass adoption.”
In addition to the above, Mr. Ayukawa, who’s currently in his third-straight term at India’s largest passenger vehicle manufacturer, said, “Maruti Suzuki’s theme of ‘Mission Green Million’, at the Auto Expo is in line with our commitment to introduce newer, greener and customer-friendly technologies for the Indian customers. Having successfully introduced key technologies such as Auto Gear Shift, SmartPlay, Smart Hybrid, and S-CNG, we are committed to accelerate our efforts to bring new technologies that bring convenience to customers.”
That said, while the Vitara Brezza has already emerged as one of the most commonly-spotted cars on the Indian roads, the other attractions from the stellar stable will include the likes of Celerio, S-Presso, WagonR, Swift, Dzire, Baleno, Ertiga, S-Cross, Ciaz S, and XL6.
