Hyundai Motor India Ltd, India’s largest exporter and second-largest carmaker by volume introduced the Kona Electric in July 2019, over a year after its global debut in March 2018. With this, the Kona became the first electric car in its company’ portfolio. Not only this, it even became the first electric SUV of the nation. Now, in a fresh development, Hyundai Motor India Ltd has launched the variable warranty option  that has been dubbed ‘’Wonder Warranty.”

Commenting on the introduction of the new scheme for Hyundai Kona Electric, Mr. Tarun Garg, Director – Sales, Marketing & Service, said, “Hyundai has always kept its customers at the highest pedestal and offered unmatched customer experience. The Hyundai KONA has pioneered in the Future Mobility and Green Mobility space. In line with the response we have received for India’s First Fully Electric SUV, we have introduced the Wonder Warranty scheme which elevates after-sales customer experience by offering them the freedom of choice and provide a Complete Peace of Mind.”

The Wonder Warranty is available to all the new buyers of the electric car. However, what’s even better is that even the existing customers can opt for the wonder warranty package and, like new customers, get all the benefits without paying any extra cost. Owners of the Kona EV can pick any one of the three warranty options that are mentioned below

•                3 Yr/Unlimited

•                4 Yr/60 000 Km

•                5Yr/50 000 Km

A point to note here is that the battery warranty for 8 years /1,60 ,000 Km remains unchanged irrespective of whether or not an owner of Hyundai Kona Electric opts for the Wonder Warranty option. In order to enhance the ownership experience of customers of Kona Electric, Hyundai Motor India Ltd has installed 7.2KW AC chargers at more than 50 dealerships in 30 cities across the country. Furthermore, every Hyundai Kona Electric is being sold with a 7.2 KW AC charger to ensure full charging at a customer’s residence in just 6 hours 10 minutes.

It must be noted here that the country’s first ‘Vehicle to Vehicle (V2V)’ charging facility has been developed and implemented by Hyundai Motor India Ltd to offer customers with EV charging infrastructure ‘anywhere anytime’ in major cities of Delhi, Chennai, Mumbai and Bengaluru. Not only this, but the company is also even offering the customers of Hyundai Kona with portable chargers emergency charging support through the company’s Road Side Assistance partner in cities of Delhi and Bengaluru. All these initiatives have been taken in order to enhance the ownership experience of customers and even push for quicker adaptation of EVs in the country.
