This is India's First Tesla Model X 100D Electric SUV, Costs Almost Rs 1.5 Crore

Yes, the highly publicized Tesla models have started making it to India. Earlier this year, Essar Group's Prashant Ruia imported a P 90D variant of the Model X. Now, as per the fresh images, someone has finally imported the Tesla Model X 100D variant into the country. The 100D, in comparison to the P 90D variant, is a bit slower. However, there's still no doubting the performance on offer. The car has a top speed of 250 kmph and can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 5 seconds. This is definitely in the league of some of many sportscars out there.

Being a Tesla, the Model X 100D comes with an all-electric powertrain. Basically, it gets two electric motors that are mounted on each of the axles. Hence, power is delivered to all four wheels, thereby making the Model X an all-wheel-drive model. The Model X 100D weighs 2.5 tons, which makes all that performance even more laudable. The car offers a driving range of 475 kms. This makes the all-electric SUV quite practical in the Indian context of things (we are yet to have enough charging points). At the moment, the Tesla Model X is manufactured only in the United States, The only way to buy this car in India is to get it imported through a private importer. In the United States, the Tesla Model X 100D costs USD 96,000, which is equivalent to 65 lakhs in the Indian currency. However, importing this car to our country requires the buyer to pay heavy import duties. This takes the price to a whopping Rs 1.5 crore. Right now, we aren't aware of the identity of the well-heeled owner of this tech-laden, future-proof all-electric SUV. All that is known at the moment is that it has been purchased by a resident of Mumbai. Honestly, we won't be really surprised if the owner of this beauty turns out to be some well-known celebrity.
