The Kia Sonet will go on sale on September 18 and will be available in a range of variants, including HTE, HTK, HTK Plus, HTX, HTX Plus and GTX Plus. The dealerships have already received the display and test drive vehicles and now, it looks like the first lof of Kia Sonet units has started reaching the dealership stockyard. We can say this with confidence as recently, the mid-spec HTK Plus variant of the Sonet was recently spotted in full glory.

While we already know all the details and specifications of the Kia Sonet, what we don’t know yet are the prices of the upcoming compact SUV. It is, however, said that prices of the sub-compact offering will start at Rs 8 lakh and go all the way to Rs 13 lakh, for the top-spec GTX Plus trim. The HTK Plus trim that has been seen recently should be placed somewhere in the middle of that range and could become the most popular model owing to being sufficiently feature-loaded while not being too costly.
While not being as well-loaded as the top-spec trims, the HTK Plus will still offer many features. For the exterior, it will come with projector fog lamps, halogen headlamps with follow me home feature, front and rear skid plates, floating roof rails, shark fin antenna, ORVM with LED turn indicators, chrome radiator grille with diamond pattern, 16-inch metallic silver wheels, etc.
Inside, it will have an all-black colour theme with black leather seats. Other highlights will include leather cover for the steering wheel and gear knob, driver seat height adjust, keyless entry, power windows, automatic AC, rear defogger, rear parcel tray, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with ARKAMYS tuning, compatibility with Apple Carplay and Android Auto, wireless phone charger, a rearview camera with guidelines, driving rearview monitor, etc.

The safety features on offer will include dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, front disc brakes, emergency stop signal. From this, it’s clear that in spite of not being the top-spec model, the mid-spec variant will still offer many features. And this is definitely something that should make it one of the most popular trims, if not the most popular one.

The HTK Plus trim will be available with all the three engine options. For reference, the 1.2-litre petrol engine makes 83PS/115Nm, 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine makes 120PS/172Nm and 1.5-litre turbo-diesel engine will offer 100PS/240Nm with 6-speed manual and 115PS/250Nm with 6-speed automatic.
