Mahindra Marazzo BS6 Launched; Prices Start at Rs. 11.25 Lakh

Team CARS24

The advent of the BSVI emission norms saw many Indian cars getting discontinued temporarily. Moreover, the tough conditions prevailing due to the ongoing pandemic led to a huge delay in the introduction of the updated, BSVI models of the aforementioned vehicles. Gradually, however, all such cars are now re-entering the market, albeit, in a BSVI-compliant guise. The latest to have joined the bandwagon is the Mahindra Marazzo, which has finally received a BSVI-compliant version of the 1.5-litre diesel motor that powered the earlier car.

Mahindra Marazzo BS6 Price

Mahindra Marazzo BS6Price (ex-showroom, New Delhi)
M2Rs 11.25 lakh
M4+Rs 12.37 lakh
M6+Rs 13.51 lakh

Prices of the BSVI Mahindra Marazzo start at Rs 11.25 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi) and the updated model continues to be the most expensive MPV in the homegrown UV-specialist’s product portfolio. However, with the launch of the updated version, the company has taken the opportunity to rejig the variant lineup of its most modern MPV yet. The updated model is now available in three variants – M2, M4+, and M6+. Unlike the previous, BSIV version, the Marazzo is no longer available in the top-spec M8 grade. Meanwhile, the M4+ variant is on sale at Rs 12.37 lakh, while the M6+ costs Rs 13.51 lakh. Other than receiving the BSVI-compliant engine, the Marazzo stays totally unchanged.

What this means is that the MPV continues to offer a shark-inspired exterior design that impresses with its modern, cab-forward look, some crisp creases on the sheetmetal, and decent proportions. With the discontinuation of the M8 variant, the Marazzo misses out on many premium features like leather upholstery, cooled glove compartment, cruise control, and electrically foldable Outside Rear View Mirrors.

Mahindra Marazzo BS6 Specifications

Mahindra Marazzo BSVISpecs
Maximum Power 121 bhp at 3,500 rpm
Peak Torque 300 Nm from 1,750 to 2,500 rpm
Transmission 6-speed manual

The Mahindra Marazzo is underpinned by a one-of-a-kind hybrid chassis that combines a typical ladder-frame with a monocoque. This results in the MPV benefitting from the robustness of a ladder-frame while enjoying the higher safety and low ride height of a monocoque. Powering the MPV is a BSVI-compliant 1.5-litre D15 four-cylinder transverse-mounted diesel engine that outputs a maximum power of 121 bhp at 3,500 rpm and a peak torque of 300 Nm from 1,750 to 2,500 rpm. The motor comes mated to a six-speed manual transmission. It is being said that the MPV would get an AMT option and even a petrol engine variant in the near future. However, we’re yet to receive any concrete confirmation of the same from the carmaker.
