The base variants for Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and Maruti Suzuki S-Cross are priced around the same bracket. The top trim for the ‘S-Cross’ however, is Rs. 26000 costlier than the Vitara Brezza, ignoring the AMT options which are not available for the S Cross.

The engine specifications on Maruti Vitara Brezza and Maruti Suzuki S-Cross are identical as they use the same DDiS 200 engine. However, the Brezza weighs 40 kilograms lesser than the S Cross and will have a very minor edge over the latter in terms of performance.

The exterior features on the Maruti Suzuki S-Cross include body coloured door handles, body coloured ORVMs, silver skid plate garnish, wheel arch extension, chrome front grille. The option for turn lamp ORVMs is only available in 'ZETA' and 'ALPHA' variants. An option for daytime running lamps with LED is only available in the 'ALPHA' variant.

On the inside, the car sports satin plating finish on AC vents, door armrest with fabric, door armrest with a leather finish (only in 'ALPHA' variant), front map lamp, 7 step illumination control, outside temperature display. An option for a leather-wrapped steering wheel and leather seat upholstery is only available in the top end variant.

Vitara Brezza:

The exterior of the all-new Vitara Brezza also features body coloured door handles and body coloured ORVM. It additionally consists of a chrome front grille, roof end spoiler, front turn indicator on the bumper, and chrome garnish backdoor. While on the interiors, the Vitara Brezza includes a tachometer, inside door grab handles, multi-information display with trip meter and fuel level indicator. An inbuilt navigation system is also included in the ZDI, ZDI+, and ZDI+(AMT) variants.

• Price- The Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza is a clear winner here being priced significantly lower then the S-Cross in all trims.
• Specifications- Both the cars share same engine specifications but the Brezza has a very minor advantage being 40 kg lighter.
• Mileage- The mileage on Maruti’s Vitara Brezza is definitely more than the S Cross by a few notches.
• Dimensions- The Maruti Suzuki S-Cross is definitely longer than the 'Vitara Brezza’ while it is a couple of inches shorter in height. It is difficult to give a verdict based only on these numbers.
• Verdict: Both the cars have a very mild difference in most of the physical aspects with the Vitara Brezza having a slight upper hand in most of them except the features. So all in all, the Vitara Brezza emerges as the victor here by a very close margin.
