Maruti Suzuki will be recalling around 1.34 lakh Wagon R and Baleno cars due to a faulty fuel pump issue. The recall is for Maruti Wagon R cars manufactured between 15 November 2019 and 15 October 2019; petrol Maruti Baleno manufactured between 8 January 2019 and 4 November 2019. The faulty fuel pump will be replaced free of cost for the customers owning these hatchbacks manufactured in the above mentioned timelines.

Maruti Suzuki authorized dealers will contact the owners of these cars directly. Meanwhile, the owners can directly check if their car comes under the recall campaign by visiting Maruti’s website and entering the chassis number of the car. The chassis number begins with MA3 or MBH followed by a 14 digit alphanumeric code that can be found in the RC ( Registration Certificate) or the RC Card.

This is not the first time Maruti Suzuki is issuing a recall. The manufacturer had earlier recalled the A-Star in 2010 and in 2019, around 40,000 Wagon R’s were recalled.
