MG (Morris Garages) Motor India today launched the much-anticipated MG Hector Plus at an introductory price of Rs 13.48 Lakhs (ex-showroom, New Delhi). The Hector Plus, MG’s first 6-seater SUV will rival cars like the Maruti Suzuki XL6, the Mahindra XUV500, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and the Toyota Innova Crysta.
The MG Hector Plus comes with luxurious and comfortable captain seats in the middle row. The 6-seater SUV comes with striking new dual-tone Smoked Sepia Brown interiors, along with stylish new headlamps, a new Chrome-Studded Front Grille, and a Chit-Chat feature on i-SMART Next Gen interface. It also comes with other attractive features including the all-new Smart Swipe, Front and Rear Bumpers, New Rear Tail Light Design, and Revised Skid Plates.

The MG Hector Plus comes in three engine options – petrol, diesel, and hybrid petrol. The petrol MG Hector Plus will be powered by a 1.5 litre turbocharged engine that produces 143PS of power with 250 Nm of torque. The petrol hybrid variant of the MG Hector Plus comes with 48 V electric motor that produces 20 Nm of extra torque.
The MG Hector Plus diesel comes with a 2.0 litre tubrocharged engine that churns out 170PS of power with 350 Nm of torque. Both the petrol and diesel variant of the Hector Plus is available with a 6 speed manual or a 7 Speed Automatic DCT Gearbox.
MG claims the new Hector Plus SUV’s total cost of ownership (TCO) is among the lowest in the segment. It costs 45 paise per kilometer for the petrol Hector Plus and 60 paise per kilometer for the diesel variant (calculated up to 100,000 KMs of usage). MG also offers the best-prepaid maintenance plans starting at INR 8,000 for 3 years with its Classic package for its customers.
