New BS6 Datsun GO and GO+ Launched in India – Price, Mileage, Specifications, Images, Colours

Datsun, the Japanese carmaker from Nissan, has just launched two of the most anticipated models this year. The 5-seater Datsun GO and the 7-seater Datsun GO+. What’s so special about these cars? Well, for starters, they both come with BSVI compliant engines – something 2020 is looking to have a lot more of. But, upgraded engines are not the only attractive features of the GO and GO+. Datsun is offering both models on a “Buy now and pay in 2021” scheme that will surely catch a lot of attention – specifically during the COVID-19 lockdown.

Powering the GO and GO+ is an upgraded BSVI-compliant 1.2L Naturally-Aspirated petrol engine that is mated to either a 5-speed manual transmission or a CVT gearbox. The manual option generates 68Ps of power with 104Nm of torque while the CVT delivers 77Ps of power along with 104Nm of torque. The upgraded engine on the Datsun GO has a fuel-efficiency of 19.02kmpl and 19.59kmpl on the manual and CVT variants respectively. While the BSIV models have a slightly better mileage, the difference is rather small. On the GO+, mileage comes in at 19.02kmpl and 18.57kmpl for the manual and CVT options respectively.

Launched as the most affordable hatchback and MPV to come with a CVT option, the Datsun GO and GO+ respectively are sure to get a lot of positivity in the automotive market this year. The reason behind this is that their competition available today either come with a manual transmission only or a semi-automatic option. The GO and GO+ feature 14-inchdiamond cut alloy wheels that give the models an impressive 180mm ground clearance, which is the best in its class. There are a total of 7 configurations available for the Datsun GO and GO+ which include A, A(O), D, T, T(O), T(O) CVT, and T CVT. Datsun is also offering the GO and GO+ in a number of colour options which include Amber Orange, Vivid Blue, Ruby Red, Crystal Silver, Bronze Grey, and Opal White.

According to the Managing Director of Nissan Motor India, Rakesh Srivastava, the new Datsun GO and GO+ are high-quality products that are not only “future-ready”, but also deliver a “strong value proposition”. The newly launched cars will come with a 2-year warranty with an option to extend up to 5 years. Some of the features found on the Datsun GO and GO+ include LED DRLs, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, anti-fatigue seats, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, reverse parking assist, vehicle dynamic control, and brake assist to name a few.
