Although the Nissan Kicks looks stunning and sporty and is in one of the most competitive segments in the Indian automotive market, the car has just got gotten the attention it deserves. In order to overcome this, Nissan has just launched the updated BSVI-compliant Kicks and it is quite impressive. The updated crossover could now make some headlines in the market and could give its competition a run for their money. So, what all do we know about the latest Nissan Kicks?
One of the biggest changes in the upcoming Kicks is the engine. For starters, the previously used k9k diesel engine will be discontinued, even though it was quite a performer. In its place, the Kicks not gets a 1.5L Naturally Aspirated petrol engine that produces 106 BHP with 142 Nm of torque. This engine option will only be available with a 5-speed manual transmission and will offer a mileage of 13.9 kmpl. But the big news here is that the BSVI-compliant Kicks is set to come with a new 1.3L Turbo-petrol engine that was featured in Mercedes cars as well as the 2020 Renault Duster at the Auto Expo. This Turbo engine will generate an impressive 156 BHP with 254 Nm of torque. The Turbo-petrol engine will be mated to a 6-speed manual transmission and will also be available with a 7-step CVT option. The ARAI-rated mileage for the 1.3L engine is set at 15.8 kmpl.
The new BSVI Nissan Kicks will be made available in a total of 4 variants with different engine options. As mentioned by Nissan, the Kicks will come in XL, XV, XV Premium, and XV Premium (O) versions. The XL and XV variants will get the 1.5L petrol engine, while the XV and XV Premium will be available with the new 1.3L Turbo-petrol engine with either manual or automatic transmission options. However, the top-tier XV Premium (O) variant will only be fitted with a manual gearbox alongside the 1.3L Turbo-petrol motor.

Some of the features listed for the Nissan Kicks 2020 are dual front airbags, brake assist, ABS with EBD, parking sensors, defogger, LED DRLs, rear air condition vents, Bluetooth and AUX connectivity, high-quality audio system, 4 speakers, electric ORVMs, and NissanConnect multimedia. What’s also impressive is that Kicks has a ground clearance of 210 mm which is definitely a massive plus-point for a car in India.

According to Nissan, the upcoming BSVI Kicks will have 6 colour options to choose from – Night Shade, Blade Silver, Fire Red, Bronze Grey, Deep Blue Pearl, and Pearl White. Along with these options, Nissan will also be releasing three dual-tone colour options including, Pearl White with Onyx Black, Bronze Grey with Amber Orange, and Fire Red with Onyx Black. These dual-tone variants will come standard for the top-tier XV Premium (O) model.
Nissan is also offering the BSVI-compliant Kicks with a number of benefits which include a standard 2-year or 50,000 Kms warranty package which is open to extension for up to 5-years or 1.0 Lakh Kms at an attractive premium. The car will also come with a standard roadside assistance for up to 2-years. Finally, Nissan will be offering a pre-paid maintenance and service package as a pre-paid offer with costs starting at just Rs. 2,099.
