By now, it has become quite well known that work is on at full swing on the next-generation Hyundai Tucson. While we have already seen many spy images revealing bits and pieces of the exterior design, we finally have a sketch that gives us a few hints of what the interior of the new car will look like. Going by this image, the next-generation Hyundai Tucson will have a rather radically-designed interior that will be unlike anything we’ve seen from the South Korean carmaker before. The sketch clearly points out towards a futuristic design and what makes things even more convincing are is the fact that the elements seen in the sketch are in line with those seen in some of the previously released spy shots.

It must be mentioned here that Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) launched the updated Tucson only a few days ago. The updated model came with a fresher styling package and some additional features. With prices starting from Rs 22.30 lakh (ex-showroom, pan-India), the new model goes on to rival the likes of Jeep Compass and Skoda Karoq. Meanwhile, on the global level, Hyundai Motor Group is preparing to launch the new-generation model and the test mules of the new car have already been spotted testing several times. All this simply means that the next-gen car isn’t too far from its debut.

The interior sketch of the next-gen Hyundai Tucson that has surfaced online shows that the cabin will have lesser physical buttons on the dashboard and even the design of the panel will be quite futuristic, especially due to the large-screen landscape-type touchscreen infotainment unit. This system will offer many connectivity featueres, including BlueLink, Apple CarPlay and Android.

The aircon vents will be positioned above the touchscreen system, while the climate control buttons will be positioned below it. The regular instrument cluster will be replaced with an all-digital unit that will resemble a tablet. The car will feature a four-spoke steering wheel that will have telephone and other controls.

Compared to the current Hyundai Tucson (seen above), the next-gen model will have a largely button-less design.

The world debut of the new-gen Hyundai Tucson should take place some time next month, while its sales in the US market could commence early next year. The new model will be the fourth generation of the premium small SUV and will be powered by 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine in turbocharged and naturally aspirated formats. Not just this, the SUV could even get a hybrid powerplant comprising of an electric motor and a 2.0-litre GDI direct-injection petrol unit.
