The leasing of brand-new cars is still quite a new concept here in India. This explains why there aren’t that many companies, at present, offering their cars on a subscription basis. However, times are a-changing as automakers including Tata Motors, Maruti Suzuki, Toyota, Hyundai, and MG Motor all have their own leasing programs. The latest to join is Nissan India, offering customers subscription plans for its models such as the Magnite, Kicks, and even the (Datsun) Redi-Go. With the brand name becoming quite popular of late, Nissan’s decision to enter the world of car leasing seems like a smart move.
The “Nissan Intelligent Ownership Subscription Plan,” as it is called, has been made possible due to the automaker’s partnership with Orix. Currently, Nissan India’s subscription plan is only available in Chennai, Hyderabad, Delhi, Gurugram, and Noida. However, the Japanese marque has promised to roll out the scheme in other cities such as Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Pune in the near future. Nissan India’s subscription plan comes with zero down payment, inclusive vehicle insurance costs, inclusive maintenance & service costs, inclusive RTO, registration & road tax costs, and inclusive 24×7 roadside assistance. The scheme also provides customers buyback options, while private & commercial number plates are available as well.
Rakesh Srivastava, Managing Director, Nissan Motor India, commented,
“Nissan as a customer-centric brand understands the dynamic lifestyles of the new age Indian customers, who seek the flexibility to manoeuver amongst various ownership experiences. We have partnered with ORIX, a prominent brand in the subscription space, to create the most affordable, convenient, and enjoyable car ownership experience, the new way to own the all-new Nissan Magnite, Nissan KICKS, and Datsun redi-GO through the Subscription Plan.”
Customers of the Nissan Intelligent Ownership Subscription Plan are required to pay a nominal security deposit and, of course, a fixed monthly fee. The fixed monthly fee will vary depending on the tenure of the plan and the variant of the car chosen by a customer. If you are looking for the most affordable Nissan subscription plan, your sole option is the Datsun Redi-Go. This small hatchback’s monthly lease will only cost you between Rs 8,666 and Rs 10,671 per month. The Nissan Magnite is also available on a subscription basis with monthly plans ranging from Rs 17,999 to Rs 25,038. While the former is the cost for leasing the entry-level XV (Manual) variant, the latter is applicable on the range-topping Turbo (CVT) XV Premium.
Those looking to lease a Nissan Kicks will have to pay anywhere between Rs 23,499 and Rs 30,981 per month. The least expensive variant of the Kicks is the XV 1.5, with the Turbo XV Premium (O) costing the most. Do note that the above-mentioned subscription costs are for Delhi and cover a tenure of 48 months/10,000 kilometers per year. Nissan India is currently offering lease tenures for 24 months, 36 months, and 48 months. At the end of the chose subscription plan, customers have the option to further extend the tenure, return the vehicle to Nissan, or buy it for good.
