After what feels like eons and eons of watching through the sidelines, India is finally set to welcome the global giant Tesla to its land. After weeks of speculation (and memes, of course), Elon Musk’s EV has officially registered with the Registrar of Companies in India, at Bengaluru.
Both Tesla India Motors and Energy Pvt. Ltd. has been incorporated on January 8, in Bengaluru. It will be spearheaded under the directorship of Vaibhav Taneja (the Chief Accounts Officer at Tesla Inc.), Venkatrangam Sreeram, and David Jon Feinstein (Global Senior Director, Trade Market Access). And as was expected, Tesla came in hot with reports claiming that the company was registered with an authorized capital of Rs 1.5 crore and a paid-up capital of Rs 100,000.
“We have been interacting with Tesla for the last few months and it is happy news that they have decided to incorporate their company here. We have impressed upon them that Bengaluru is not only the technology capital but also the aerospace and space capital. For any kind of technology collaboration, it has the right kind of talent pool.”Gaurav Gupta, principal secretary, commerce & industries of Karnataka.
The new office is located at the Richmond circle junction opposite the Bangalore Club
