Due to its alliance with Maruti Suzuki, we have cars like the Glanza and Urban Cruiser from Toyota. These two models are basically the Maruti Suzuki Baleno and Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, with very little done to change that perception. Therefore, in this case, Maruti Suzuki is the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) that provides the cars for Toyota to then sell them as their own. With input costs soaring, automakers in India have been upping the prices of their cars almost on a monthly basis for some. Similarly, Toyota India just announced that it will be hiking the prices of the Glanza hatchback and Urban Cruiser SUV.
This comes just a few short weeks after Toyota had increased the Camry, Fortuner, and Innova Crysta prices. The Toyota Glanza is available in two different trim levels (G and V), with the base G variant (manual & automatic versions) now becoming costlier by Rs 16,000. This means that the base manual variant of the Glanza is now priced at Rs 7.34 Lakh, while the automatic costs Rs 8.54 Lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Meanwhile, it is the mid-spec Glanza Hybrid that sees the biggest hike, to the tune of Rs 33,000. Therefore, its price has bloated from Rs 7.66 Lakh to Rs 7.99 Lakh, which is quite a leap.

As for the range-topping V trim (manual & automatic versions) of the Toyota Glanza, its price has been hiked by Rs 20,000. Where it once used to cost Rs 7.90 Lakh and Rs 9.10 Lakh for the manual and automatic variants, the revision takes that up to Rs 8.10 Lakh and Rs 9.30 Lakh, respectively. Meanwhile, the Toyota Urban Cruiser is offered in three trim levels that are spread across a total of six variants. The range begins with the entry-level Mid (MT) and culminates at the top-spec Premium (AT). Toyota India has duly hiked the prices of the Mid and High trims (manual versions) of the Urban Cruiser by a uniform of Rs 12,500.

Post revision, the Urban Cruiser Mid (MT) price has gone from Rs 8.50 Lakh to Rs 8.62 Lakh. Similarly, the price of the High (MT) has soared from Rs 9.25 Lakh to around Rs 9.38 Lakh. Since the corresponding automatic versions have had their prices hiked by a nominal Rs 2,500, their prices now stand at Rs 9.93 Lakh and Rs 10.78 Lakh respectively. On the other hand, the top-spec Premium trim (manual & automatic versions) of the Urban Cruiser have had their prices increased by Rs 5,500. Therefore, the manual version now comes in at Rs 9.91 Lakh, while the automatic costs Rs 11.41 Lakh. All prices mentioned are ex-showroom, Delhi.
Under the hood, the Toyota Glanza comes with a 1.2-liter four-cylinder petrol engine that makes a maximum of 89hp and 113Nm of torque. It can be paired with either a 5-speed manual or a CVT automatic gearbox. As for the Urban Cruiser, it gets a 1.5-liter four-cylinder petrol engine that’s capable of 103hp and 138Nm of torque. This can be mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed torque converter automatic transmission. For the time being, Toyota India has not hiked the prices of the Yaris and Vellfire.
