While we are not too excited about the 2020 BMW 2 Series reaching India anytime in the near future, it does have a lot of potential for becoming a huge name in the market. BMW has announced that the 2 Series will be made available as a coupe as well as a convertible and named 230i and M240i respectively. Although there are not a lot of changes in the upcoming 2 Series models from their previous iterations, it’s the engines that are the main focus. The 230i will house a BSVI-compliant 2.0L Turbocharged petrol engine capable of generating 248Ps of power and 258Nm of torque. On the other hand, the more powerful M240i will get a BSVI-compliant 3.0L In-Line Turbocharged petrol engine that will produce 335Ps of power along with 369Nm of torque. While both the models will come paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox, the M340i will have the option for a 6-speed manual transmission as well. BMW has also included 17-inch and 18-inch allow wheels on the 230i and M240i respectively. LED headlamps, keyless entry, automatic wipers, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, drowsy driver warning, and a high-end infotainment system with audio are just some of the features found on both the new 2 Series. If the BMW 2 Series does not make its way to India, interested buyers can check out a used car evaluation tool to get the best price on their current cars so that they get maximum savings when importing the vehicle into the country.

If the BMW i3 doesn’t make you reach for your RC transfer papers, I don’t know what will. This small completely EV from the German giants has already been made available in Europe and America and is ready to make its appearance in India in 2020. Firstly, the exteriors of the i3 are absolutely stunning – not only does it give the car a futuristic look, but it does so with style. On the front, the car is fitted with the same kind of kidney grille we have come to love BMW for while the U-shaped headlamps and indicators are comprised of LED lights. Although the car is quite small, BMW has put large 20-inch wheels on it which gives it better stability and grip on all types of roads. Even on the back, the car features LED taillights and turn indicators that surround the large bumper. One of the standout features though are the suicide doors that give the i3 instant attention. In terms of the interiors and features, the car has a 5.7-inch instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch infotainment system, Apple CarPlay connectivity, reverse parking camera, and Active Cruise Control. Powering the i3 is a 33kWh Lithium-Ion battery that is attached to an 184PS electric motor and can take the car from 0-100km in 6.9 seconds with a maximum range of 280kms.
