If there could be one name in the premium luxury segment of the Indian automobile world, Mercedes-Benz would have to be at the very top. While Mercedes has already announced and is successfully selling the LWB (Long Wheel Base) version of the A-Class Sedan in China exclusively, the company did confirm that India will also get the pleasure of driving the A-Class sometime in 2020. We still don’t know whether we will get the exclusive LWB variant from China or the standard variant but since the LWB version of the E-Class did exceedingly well in the country, our bets are on the LWB A-Class making it over into India as well. Powering the upcoming A-Class sedan will be a BSVI-compliant, 1330cc Turbocharged petrol engine that offers 163PS of power and 250Nm of torque, and is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. There is another version that houses a BSVI-complaint 1.5L Turbocharged diesel engine that is capable of generating 116Ps of power and 260Nm of torque. The diesel engine is also paired with a 7-speed automatic transmission. When launched, the A-Class Sedan will most likely take on cars like the BMW 1 Series and the Audi A3 which are already high-selling cars in the market.
|Expected Launch||10 October, 2020|

The design of the upcoming Q3 2020 is relatively the same as its previous iteration. The front grille is large and hexagonal with vertical chrome stripes and the Audi branding. The large air dams sit below the new LED headlamps which now come in a sharper design. In the rear, the LED taillights have also be changed with almost a Lamborghini look to it. Powering the Q3 2020 will be a 2.0L, 4-cylinder Turbocharged-petrol engine that generates 228Ps of power and 258Nm of torque. The engine is also mated to an 8-speed Tiptronic automatic gearbox that also features All-Wheel-Drive. Inside, the Q3 2020 comes with the latest features such as a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, an 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Google Android Auto connectivity, a high-quality audio setup, and automatic climate control to name a few. In terms of looks, the E-Pace has the same rising window line as seen on the F-Type while the car does feature a raked roofline. The car looks to be targeted at the younger generation with its sporty look and smaller size and could easily be one of the most second hand cars from the brand when launched. On the inside, the E-Pace is quite familiar as it boasts plush interiors and high-tech equipment. There is a 10-inch infotainment setup with touchscreen capabilities as well as a 12.3-inch TFT instrument panel. The GLA 2020 is designed to look and perform thanks to its sporty features including the shorter overhangs, the 18-inch wheels, and the raked windshield in the front. The front grille is quite hidden thanks to the oversized Mercedes-Benz branding but it is not something that depreciates the look of the car – in fact, it gives it a more aggressive look overall. Powering the GLA 2020 is a 2.0L Turbo-petrol engine that will produce 208Ps of power and 258Nm of torque. Paired to the engine will be a 7-speed DCT or Dual-Clutch Transmission. The fourth-gen Octavia is expected to be launched in January, 2021 and could have a myriad of features that propel it back to the top. The upcoming Volvo V60 Cross Country is essentially the popular V60 with a few tweaks and touch-ups. In terms of looks, the V60 Cross Country has the same grille found on the regular V60 with the same LED headlamps placed on either side of it. The front bumper remains the same as well with large air dams carved into the plastic in front. In the rear, the V60 Cross Country features the same taillights and exhaust tips as is seen on the standard V60 car. Apart from that, the car also has a 60mm ground clearance advantage from its original variant. Even on the inside, the V60 Cross Country looks practically identical to the V60 and comes with a touchscreen console that is remarkably easy to use. The leather seats in front are very comfortable and with the adjustable steering wheel, there is no problem in finding a suitable driving position. Powering the car is a BSVI-compliant 2.0L Twin-Turbocharged D4 diesel engine that is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and offers an impressive 187bhp. While the standard V60 was a direct competitor to the Mercedes-Benz C-Class Estate, the BMW 3 Series Estate, and the Audi A4 Estate, the V60 Cross Country’s has only one competitor currently – the Audi A4 Allroad. Priced at about 45.0 lakhs and offering some exciting features, the V60 Cross Country could be one of the biggest SUV options in the country and a simple 2nd hand car valuation tool can help you own the model easily.

In an industry that is consumed by a sudden trend of SUV enthusiasm, the 2020 Volvo S60 is more a breath of fresh air that one might think. Although this sedan is based on the same platform as its 7-seater compatriot – the XC90, the new S60 offers the old-school customer so much more. For starters, the car is powered only by petrol engines and will not use diesel as an option anytime soon. There are hybrid options though, that could find the interest of some buyers. Currently, in the UK, Volvo offers the 2020 S60 in a total of 5 variants – all of which will now house a BSVI-compliant 2.0L 4-cylinder Turbo-petrol engine. The T4 and T5 variants will offer 190bhp and 250bhp respectively as well as automatic transmission and Front-Wheel-Drive. A 306bhp All-Wheel-Drive T6 engine is also available while a couple of T8 petrol and plug-in hybrid engines offering 400bhp complete the list. How many of these variants will actually make it to India is unknown but we can at least expect the T4 and T5 models to feature this year. While Volvo is a company that has been releasing cars regularly since 2014, most of the models feature similar exteriors as well as interiors and that trend carried over to the 2020 S60 as well. A touchscreen panel is fitted into the center console in portrait style which is easy to use and helps control the car settings quicker. In terms of audio, the car houses a Bowers & Wilkins stereo setup that provides top-quality sound. The rest of the interiors include leather-clad seats, a leather steering wheel, digital dashboard and instrument cluster, air condition vents, and power windows among others.

If you are in the market for a premium sedan, we believe that the upcoming KIA Stinger is probably on the best options for you. However, you will have to wait a bit as the car is set to launch in April 2021 and with the current situation, we don’t know if that date will be pushed back further or not. Nevertheless, the Stinger is something worth waiting for. It looks absolutely stunning with sharp lines and curves that give it a sporty and aggressive look. Powering the Stinger will be a 2.0L petrol engine that generates 247Ps of power and 353Nm of torque. There will also be a GT variant of the Stinger which is a performance-based variant and that will come with a 3.3L Twin-Turbo V6 petrol engine that offer 370Ps of power with 510Nm of torque. Petrol engines are not the only option as KIA is also set to launch the Stinger with a single 2.2L diesel engine that will offer 200Ps of power and 440Nm of torque. All the engines will come with an 8-speed automatic transmission system and with Rear-Wheel-Drive as standard and All-Wheel-Drive as an option. The Stinger will also be feature-rich with some of them being a flat-bottom steering wheel, high-quality Nappa leather upholstery, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a 7-inch digital touchscreen instrument cluster.

If there was one car that was majorly anticipated in India, it has to be the A3 2021. The previous iteration has already done extremely well in the country and the updated version is ready to bring even more. Audi is expected to include a BSVI-compliant 2.0L Turbocharged-petrol engine in the A3 2021 which is expected to produce an impressive 245Ps of power. There could also be an option for a 2.0L diesel engine that might make it to India but we are not certain about that since diesel cars are quite popular in the country. The Audi A3 2021 engine will be paired with a 7-speed Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT auto). The biggest change we can expect from the upcoming A3 2021 is its looks. The new A3 2021 will come with an aggressive-looking front grille with a hexagonal shape to it. The new LED headlamps look extremely stylish and sleek and the large air dams below that also carry a geometric shape to it. The body of the A3 2021 now features sharp curves and angular lines that give it a very aggressive look overall.

While the upcoming Sportage is in its fourth generation from KIA, the model is yet to make its way to India. Fortunately though, we believe that the latest model will make its way over given the fact that the SUV segment is truly flourishing in the country. Also, the KIA Seltos has been doing extremely well in India and is growing in popularity every day. This might push KIA to launch the Sportage in the country as well. While there isn’t a lot of information around the Sportage right now, we expect the SUV to be similar to what is offered on the Hyundai Tucson and will immediately compete with the likes of the Tucson, Mahindra XUV500 and the Jeep Compass. Like the Tucson, we can expect the Sportage to come with a 2.0L petrol engine that generates 155Ps of power and 192Nm of torque. There is also a 2.0L diesel engine that produces 185Ps of power and 400Nm of torque. Both the engines will most-likely be paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission as standard with the option for upgrading to an 8-speed automatic gearbox. Some of the features we are expecting on the Sportage include a panoramic sunroof, multiple airbags, and an electronically adjustable driver seat. With more information expected to drop anytime soon, you can get all the latest Sportage news right here.

Earlier at the Auto Expo 2018, DC Design showcased their latest sports model named the TCA. The TCA, as we already discussed stands for Titanium, Carbon, and Aluminum which happen to be the materials that were used in the construction of the car. The TCA is styled according to the Pagani Zonda and the LaFerrari which are the ultimate sports cars in the market right now. The platform of the upcoming TCA is basically a modified version of the one found on the DC Avanti, however, the TCA is longer, wider, and lower than the Avanti. Powering the upcoming TCA will be a 3.8L V6 petrol engine that will generate 320Ps of power and will be mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission system. This is expected to be a massive attraction as the Avanti only came with a manual gearbox. In terms of speed, DC has claimed that the TCA will be able to go from 0-100 Kmph in an impressive 4.5 seconds which is not the quickest, but it is fast for Indian roads. One of the biggest attractions of the TCA is the fact that DC has stated that they will only make 299 units of the car with bookings already being made currently.

In terms of features, the CLA 2020 comes with bright LED headlamps as well as taillights, dual 7-inch touchscreen displays for the instrument cluster and the infotainment system that supports MBUX technology. There is also Google Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity with Bluetooth connectivity as standard. KIA has been doing really well in the Indian market and the upcoming XCeed will surely boost sales for the company once it is released. This stylish looking crossover is expected to enter the market into one of the most competitive segments in the country. Fortunately, the XCeed has a lot to offer the regular buyer and is more than capable of taking on some of the bigger names out there. There are a total of 3 petrol engines on offer with a single diesel engine option that will make it to India. The smallest petrol engine is a 1.0L 3-cylinder Turbo-petrol engine that is capable of generating 120Ps and 172Nm of torque. Next, there is a 1.4L, 4-cylinder petrol engine that produces 140Ps of power with 242Nm of torque. Last year, Jeep announced its plans to introduce a number of newer models in the coming years for the Indian market, one of which included a 7-seater SUV. Although not much is known about the upcoming model, the company launched a similar car in the Chinese market called the Grand Commander and we can expect a number of features and specifications to carry over to the Indian-based variants as well. What we can also expect are the powertrain options to be similar to what is already available including the 2.0L diesel engine found on the Compass as well as the 2.0L petrol engine housed in the new Wrangler. The diesel variant will come with either a 6-speed manual or 9-speed automatic transmission whereas the petrol variant should carry a 9-speed automatic gearbox. In terms of looks, we don’t really know what this 7-seater will look like, but we can be sure of 1 thing – it will have 3 rows of seats which means it will be big. If you have a big family and are looking to get your hands on this vehicle, you might want to use a used car evaluation toolto help you sell your current car for a better price.

The Compass is definitely considered as one of the most used cars from the Jeep lineup in India. The previous iteration saw interested buyers fall in love with what was on offer from the design to the performance and everything in between. The new upcoming Jeep Compass 2021 is expected to bring a lot more to the table and we are excited about it. According to Jeep, the new Compass 2021 will come in four different variants including the Longitude, the Longitude (O), the Sport Plus, and the Limited Plus. This 5-seater SUV will now house a 1.4L Turbo-petrol engine that is capable of generating 163Ps of power and 250Nm of torque and will be mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard with the option for a 7-speed DCT as well. Jeep will also be releasing the Compass 2021 with a new 2.0L diesel engine that will produce 173Ps of power and 350Nm of torque. We don’t often think of Maruti as a premium car maker but they do have a plethora of models that bring together premium features and specifications at a higher price point. The Maruti Grand Vitara is one of the best examples of their premium range. Variants of the Maruti Grand Vitara have already made their way to Europe and an expected launch date of August means that people could finally get a look at one of the most anticipated compact SUVs of the year. Although the new Grand Vitara is designed around the iV-4 concept that was unveiled back in 2013, the finished product looks quite similar to the previous Grand Vitara. Under the hood, the European Grand Vitara houses a 4-cylinder 1.6L petrol engine that is capable of generating 120Ps of power. There is also a 1.6L diesel engine option that can produce 320Ps of power. |Engine||Petrol, Electric Motor|
|Power||1.5kWh Lithium-Ion Battery|
Nissan’s electric vehicle (EV) design platform is one of the best in the world and the upcoming Nissan Note e Power uses that design to offer something more than just cleaner driving. When it comes to EV’s, power and range are two variables all potential buyers look for and are the two obstacles most manufacturers find hard to overcome. Nissan’s attempt at solving that dilemma is the Note e Power as it features both an electric motor as well as a petrol engine. This would make it a hybrid essentially, but the petrol engine is not there to get the wheels turning. In fact, all the power comes from the 1.5kWh Lithium-Ion battery which offers a torque of 254Nm. The petrol engine in the car works as a battery charger to keep the car moving even when the battery is running out of juice. With its sole purpose set on charging, the engine is expected to have an impressive mileage of 37kmpl. Since very little is known about the Note e Power, we will have to wait till its launch date to know the other details.
|Expected Launch||1 December, 2021|
|Engine||2.0L Naturally Aspirated Engine with an Electric Motor|
Known as the Nissan Rogue in the US, the X-Trail is expected to be launched in India in December, 2019. This is the third-gen SUV model which was first showcased back in 2016 at the Indian Auto Expo. While there seem to be a number of upgrades and changes, the majority of it looks to be in its exteriors. The bumper, headlamps, grille, and hood get a complete redesign while a large air duct sits below the grille and between the two fog lights. In the rear, the car has new horizontally placed tail lights and a new bumper as well. The X-Trail, when launched in India, will come with a 2.0L naturally aspirated engine along with an electric motor that features an automatic CVT or Continuously Variable Transmission. The interiors of the car also get a major upgrade with a touchscreen infotainment system, new AC vents, and a sleek digital dashboard. Although the X-Trail was launched with Nissan’s ProPilot autonomous driving feature, it is unlikely that the Indian model will come with it when launched. The X-Trail is definitely one of the best upcoming SUVs and could get a lot of people readying their RC transfer papers to try and get their hands on the vehicle once it is launched in the country.
|Expected Launch||12 December, 2021|
Back in 2018, Hyundai unveiled the Ioniq electric and hybrid models which took the world by storm. Later, Hyundai also showcased a plug-in hybrid variant which will most likely not make its appearance in India. As of the latest news, only the electric variant will be brought to India and will be one of the best options in the segment. Hyundai has fitted a decent 28kWh Lithium-Ion battery into the Ioniq which is expected to charge from 0-100 percent in about 9-10 hours. However, Hyundai will also include a quick charge option that will significantly reduce the charge time to about 4-5 hours. When the Ioniq’s battery is completely charged, it is expected to have a maximum range of 280 Kms which is rather impressive. In terms of design, the Ioniq electric car will come with a hexagonal grille that will give it a sleek, sharp look. The LED headlamps and LED DRLs will keep the Ioniq updated. The use of aluminum in the boot lid will make the Ioniq up to 25 percent lighter than some of the other Hyundai cars available today. In the features department, the Ioniq will come with a 7-inch instrument cluster as well as a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Safety will be a major attraction for the Ioniq with 7 airbags, adaptive cruise control, autonomous braking, lane change assist, and blind spot detection.
