Audi A3 2021

Expected Launch1 October 2021
Engine2.0L Turbocharged Petrol, 2.0L Diesel
Transmission7-Speed DCT

The currently available Audi A3 is one of the best-selling models in the country. As usual, Audi delivered exceptional features and a powerful performance on the A3 and they are finally ready to release the next iteration of the sedan. The Audi A3 2021 has been making headlines for quite a few months now and it couldn’t get any more exciting. Audi is expected to include a BSVI-compliant 2.0L Turbocharged-petrol engine in the A3 2021 which is expected to produce an impressive 245Ps of power. There could also be an option for a 2.0L diesel engine that might make it to India but we are not certain about that since diesel cars are quite popular in the country. The Audi A3 2021 engine will be paired with a 7-speed Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT). The biggest change we can expect from the upcoming A3 2021 is its looks. The new A3 2021 will come with an aggressive-looking front grille with a hexagonal shape to it. The new LED headlamps look extremely stylish and sleek and the large air dams below that also carry a geometric shape to them. The body of the A3 2021 now features sharp curves and angular lines that give it a very aggressive look overall.

Volkswagen Tiguan 2021

Expected Launch1 October 2021

The facelifted Volkswagen Tiguan 2021 has been one of the most talked-about SUVs in the Indian market and while it was supposed to be launched last year, this year it is expected to enter one of the most competitive segments in the country. The 5-seater SUV from Volkswagen is expected to be powered by a 2.0L Turbo-petrol engine that will produce 190Ps of power and 320Nm of torque. It is the same engine that is found on the current Allspace. Mated to the engine will be a 7-speed DSG transmission and will also come with an All-Wheel-Drive. Inside the Tiguan 2021, we can expect a large touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, a panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, cruise control, a digital instrument cluster, and three-zone climate control. Nissan X-Trail

Expected Launch1 December 2021
Engine2.0L Naturally-Aspirated Petrol
TransmissionAutomatic CVT

The Nissan X-Trail is ready to finally make its way over to India sometime in December 2021. Initially, the X-Trail was supposed to launch in India in 2019 but it was delayed and eventually postponed. In the United States of America, the X-Trail is known as the Rogue. This is the third-gen SUV model which was first showcased back in 2016 at the Indian Auto Expo. While there seems to be a number of upgrades and changes, the majority of it looks to be in its exteriors. The bumper, headlamps, grille, and hood get a complete redesign while a large air duct sits below the grille and between the two fog lights. In the rear, the car has new horizontally placed taillights and a new bumper as well. The X-Trail, when launched in India, will come with a 2.0L Naturally-Aspirated petrol engine along with an electric motor that features an automatic CVT or Continuously Variable Transmission. The interiors of the car also get a major upgrade with a touchscreen infotainment system, new AC vents, and a sleek digital dashboard. Although the X-Trail was launched with Nissan’s ProPilot autonomous driving feature, it is unlikely that the Indian model will come with it when launched. The X-Trail is definitely one of the best upcoming SUVs and could get a lot of people excited to get their hands on the vehicle once it is launched in the country.

Hyundai Ioniq

2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5 revealed
Expected Launch12 December, 2021
Battery28kWh Lithium-Ion
Range280 Km

Back in 2018, Hyundai unveiled the Ioniq electric and hybrid models which took the world by storm. Later, Hyundai also showcased a plug-in hybrid variant which will most likely not make its appearance in India. As of the latest news, only the electric variant will be brought to India and will be one of the best options in the segment. Hyundai has fitted a decent 28kWh Lithium-Ion battery into the Ioniq which is expected to charge from 0-100 percent in about 9-10 hours. However, Hyundai will also include a quick charge option that will significantly reduce the charge time to about 4-5 hours. When the Ioniq’s battery is completely charged, it is expected to have a maximum range of 280 Kms which is rather impressive. In terms of design, the Ioniq electric car will come with a hexagonal grille that will give it a sleek, sharp look. The LED headlamps and LED DRLs will keep the Ioniq updated. The use of aluminum in the boot lid will make the Ioniq up to 25 percent lighter than some of the other Hyundai cars available today. In the features department, the Ioniq will come with a 7-inch instrument cluster as well as a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Safety will be a major attraction for the Ioniq with 7 airbags, adaptive cruise control, autonomous braking, lane change assist, and blind-spot detection.

When Great Wall Motors unveiled the Haval SUV lineup in India at the Auto Expo 2020, no one expected the lineup to gain the kind of popularity it already has. The Vision 2025 was one of the most outstanding SUV offerings from Haval and is expected to come with a plethora of features and specifications that will give it an edge over the competition in the market right now. For starters, the upcoming Vision 2025 was showcased with an AR-HUD or Augmented Reality Heads-Up Display that will turn the windshield into a touchscreen for navigation purposes. Some of the other features included with the Haval Vision 2025 include 5G connectivity, facial recognition, automatic driving modes, auto summon, auto park, and an option to shop while driving. The Haval Vision 2025 will be fitted with large 22-inch alloy wheels. Keeping to the modern theme, Vision 2025 will come with cameras instead of OVRMs. The headlamps and taillights are sleek and bright – not quite like the ones seen on the other Haval SUVs. One of the standout features of Vision 2025 is the 3D car locating feature that helps you find your car in a congested area with a push of a button. The engine specifications have not yet been released by GWM but we can expect a little more information as the launch date draws closer.

The “Premium” variant has been seen with a ‘3.5’ badge which could mean that it will house a 3.5L petrol engine. If that is the case, we can expect the engine to produce 290Ps of power and 338Nm of torque. According to what we have seen from Hyundai, we can also expect the Staria to be paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The platform of the upcoming TCA is basically a modified version of the one found on the DC Avanti, however, the TCA is longer, wider, and lower than the Avanti. Powering the upcoming TCA will be a 3.8L V6 petrol engine that will generate 320Ps of power and will be mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission system. This is expected to be a massive attraction as the Avanti only came with a manual gearbox. In terms of speed, DC has claimed that the TCA will be able to go from 0-100 Kmph in an impressive 4.5 seconds which is not the quickest, but it is fast for Indian roads. One of the biggest attractions of the TCA is the fact that DC has stated that they will only make 299 units of the car with bookings already being made currently.

There is also a 1.6L diesel engine option that can produce 320Ps of power. In terms of transmission, the petrol engine is mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic whereas the diesel engine will only be mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox.

Volvo V60 Cross Country

Expected Launch26 February 2022
Engine2.0L Twin-Turbocharged D4 Diesel, 2.0L T5 Petrol
Transmission8-Speed Automatic

The upcoming Volvo V60 Cross Country is essentially the popular V60 with a few tweaks and touch-ups. In terms of looks, the V60 Cross Country has the same grille found on the regular V60 with the same LED headlamps placed on either side of it. The front bumper remains the same as well with large air dams carved into the plastic in front. In the rear, the V60 Cross Country features the same taillights and exhaust tips as is seen on the standard V60 car. The only visible difference on the outside of the V60 Cross Country is the charcoal plastic wheel arches. Apart from that, the car also has a 60mm ground clearance advantage from its original variant. Even on the inside, the V60 Cross Country looks practically identical to the V60 and comes with a touchscreen console that is remarkably easy to use. The leather seats in front are very comfortable and with the adjustable steering wheel, there is no problem in finding a suitable driving position. Powering the car is a BSVI-compliant 2.0L Twin-Turbocharged D4 diesel engine that is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and offers an impressive 187bhp. Although there is no other engine option at the moment, Volvo has said that a BSVI-compliant 2.0L T5 petrol engine will be made available in the coming months which will produce 247bhp. The other distinguishing feature between the V60 and the Cross Country is that the latter offers Four-Wheel-Drive and comes with hill-descent control which is perfect for off-road driving. While the standard V60 was a direct competitor to the Mercedes-Benz C-Class Estate, the BMW 3 Series Estate, and the Audi A4 Estate, the V60 Cross Country’s has only one competitor currently – the Audi A4 Allroad.
