Upcoming Ford Cars in India – Kuga SUV
The Ford Kuga is one of the upcoming Ford cars in India and is expected to launch by the end of 2018. Ford Kuga is a part of Ford’s ‘one ford’ strategy. According to this, Ford is set to launch the same range of passenger vehicles across the globe saving them a lot of money. The Ford Kuga is aimed to sit between Ford’s Ecosport and Endeavour. Reports suggest that Mahindra’s cost structure is 10-12% lower than Ford’s. This will not only help the American carmaker curb its manufacturing cost but accelerate the product development procedure as well. The new Ford is expected to have 6-speed manual transmission in the diesel variant and an option for 6-speed automatic transmission and 6-speed manual transmission.
The dual tone interiors on the Ford Kuga offer a high-quality fit and finish and the dashboard looks attractive. The seats are very generous in terms of space and comfort. Enough legroom and headroom are provided in inclusion with premium leather and upholstery. The steering design is inherited from the Ecosport. The instrument display provides an array of information such as fuel indication, digital tachometer, outside temperature, fuel level, average speed, trip meter etc. The second row of seats is foldable and hence, provides enough boot space. The new Kuga will also have features such as dual-zone climate control, cruise control, push-button start, multi-functional steering wheel with the electrically adjustable steering column, rear AC vents, rearview camera, parking sensors, touchscreen infotainment, SYNC-3 Infotainment, Apple CarPlay, Electric Tailgate etc.
The front fascia of the car carries a bold radiator grille with chrome accents, with the company emblem lying at its centre. The air dams embedded with integrated fog lamps and turn indicator adds to the visibility of the driver. The sloping roofline accentuates the overall impression of sporting elegance and powerful dynamics. When it comes to the rear, the Ford Kuga gets split wraparound tail lamps, body coloured bumper with skid plates and twin exhaust tips in chrome add a bit of muscle to the rear. Dimensionally Kuga sits between Ford EcoSports and Endeavour.
Upcoming Ford Cars in India – Endeavour facelift
The next model in our list of upcoming Ford Cars in India is the updated Ford Endeavour. Sold as ‘Everest’ in the international market, the facelifted Ford Endeavour is set to launch on the Indian soil by early 2019. Minor cosmetic tweaks such as a reworked radiator grille, slightly protruding fog lamp inserts on the front bumper, a silver finish for the lower part of the front bumper and new six-spoke alloy wheels could be expected from the new entrant in the American car makers array of vehicles in India. The facelift Ford Endeavour is also expected to get equipment like passive keyless entry and a push start button.
The current engine line-up that includes a 160hp/385Nm, 2.2-litre diesel and a 200hp/470Nm, 3.2-litre diesel will remain on sale, albeit with possible upgrades to meet the stricter BS-VI emission norms that come into force in 2020. The new Endeavour is set to compete with Toyota’s Fortuner and Mahindra’s version of SsangYong Rexton that goes on sale this year.
Even the new Ford Mondeo is one of the upcoming Ford cars in India. A part of Ford’s ‘one ford’ strategy, Mondeo could make its way back to India sometime next year. Launched as early as back in 2002, Mondeo failed to charm the Indian buyer back in the days and was labelled way ahead of its times. Now, as the Indian economy is developing, giving people more buying capacity, Ford is set to relaunch the luxury sedan in India. The front of the Ford Mondeo spots hexagonal grille with swept back headlamps which lend it a sleek and sophisticated look. The aerodynamic design is sure to please the Indian buyer.

Ford Mustang Facelift
Expected to launch around the end of 2018, The all-new Ford Mustang facelift will come with the new MagneRide suspension technology in India. Ford’s iconic ponytail car entered in India back in 2016 and soon became the most selling sports car on the Indian soil. The 2018 Mustang gets a major facelift and many significant changes in terms of suspension, transmission and fuel delivery systems.
The exterior of the car spots the signature ford mustang styling with standard LED headlamps. Magnetorheological dampers and a variable exhaust system are offered as optional features. The 2018 Mustang also gets more safety features. Interiors include Ford’s SYNC3 touchscreen infotainment system that now offers smartphone connectivity. The transmission on the new Mustang is a 6-speed automatic with engine specs as 5.0-litre V8 Ti-VCT V Type.
