Earlier at the Auto Expo 2018, DC Design showcased their latest sports model named the TCA. Honda has always been a popular option when it comes to compact hatchbacks in India and the Brio is clearly one of the best available in the market right now. The second-generation Brio was first revealed at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show back in 2018 and the Japanese manufacturer has finally decided to make it available to India. This could be the perfect time for interested buyers to ready their RC transfer papers for one of the most anticipated hatchbacks this year. One of the major differences between the previous model and the upcoming one is that Honda has made it more spacious – something which was a negative point for interested buyers. Even the design of the new Brio has changed a lot with a more mature look as compared to the playful design on the current model. However, under the hood, the new Brio will still feature the same 1.2L i-VTEC petrol engine that produces 90Ps of power and 110Nm of torque. Mated to the engine will be a standard 5-speed manual gearbox but Honda is expected to include a 7-speed CVT when the car is launched in India. In terms of features, the new Brio will come with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Google Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, and Bluetooth enabled audio which are just some of the latest additions. LED headlamps and taillights, ABS with EBD, keyless entry, automatic climate control, and dual airbags in front also make the list of new features.

Back in 2018, Hyundai unveiled the Ioniq electric and hybrid models which took the world by storm. Later, Hyundai also showcased a plug-in hybrid variant which will most likely not make its appearance in India. As of the latest news, only the electric variant will be brought to India and will be one of the best options in the segment. Hyundai has fitted a decent 28kWh Lithium-Ion battery into the Ioniq which is expected to charge from 0-100 percent in about 9-10 hours. However, Hyundai will also include a quick charge option that will significantly reduce the charge time to about 4-5 hours. When the Ioniq’s battery is completely charged, it is expected to have a maximum range of 280 Kms which is rather impressive. In terms of design, the Ioniq electric car will come with a hexagonal grille that will give it a sleek, sharp look. The LED headlamps and LED DRLs will keep the Ioniq updated. The use of aluminum in the boot lid will make the Ioniq up to 25 percent lighter than some of the other Hyundai cars available today. In the features department, the Ioniq will come with a 7-inch instrument cluster as well as a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Safety will be a major attraction for the Ioniq with 7 airbags, adaptive cruise control, autonomous braking, lane change assist, and blind spot detection.

The front grille has also been changed up a bit with the standard version getting a curved up design whereas the AMG variants get a more aggressive-looking swept down grille design. On the AMG variants, Mercedes has also included “power domes” or bulges on the bonnet that give the car a deeper sound when revving the engine. Although the GLA 2020 is the smallest crossover from Mercedes-Benz, the car sure knows how to pack a punch. The GLA 2020 is designed to look and perform thanks to its sporty features including the shorter overhangs, the 18-inch wheels, and the raked windshield in the front. The front grille is quite hidden thanks to the oversized Mercedes-Benz branding but it is not something that depreciates the look of the car – in fact, it gives it a more aggressive look overall. Powering the GLA 2020 is a 2.0L Turbo-petrol engine that will produce 208Ps of power and 258Nm of torque. Paired to the engine will be a 7-speed DCT or Dual-Clutch Transmission. Safety is very important to Mercedes-Benz and therefore they have included a number of features including airbags for the front and rear seats, ABS with EBD, child safety locks, LED DRL’s, traction control, parking cameras, and stability control. The Yaris from Toyota was originally considered as one of the most premium sedans on offer from the manufacturer and with that popularity, the company has decided to launch the facelifted Yaris 2021. The sedan is expected to make its way into Indian dealers by February, 2021 and is expected to come with a host of upgraded features and specifications that will put it up against some of the biggest names in the business including the Hyundai Verna, the Volkswagen Vento, and the latest Honda City. Unfortunately, the engine is something that we do not expect to see upgraded which means the same 1.5L Turbo-petrol engine will power the Yaris 2021. The engine will still generate 107Ps of power with 140Nm of torque and will come mated to either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 7-step CVT transmission. What we do expect from the Yaris 2021 is a new set of LED headlamps and taillights, new LED DRLs and fog lights, and an updated infotainment setup that includes Google Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. The instrument cluster and the controls mounted on the steering wheel should remain the same for the upcoming Yaris 2021 which we think is a rather disappointing area.

The current model has already made its mark in the country and customers are expecting some exciting things for the newer model. The car has already been spotted under covers for testing and it looks like the EcoSport is about to get a facelift in all departments. Overall, the car looks a bit wider than the current model while the bonnet and wheel arches have a significant amount of added muscle to them. The most noticeable change is in the back where the spare wheel has finally been removed. Jumping under the hood, we could see the new EcoSport with a 1.5L 3-cylinder petrol engine with BA6 compliance, while there could also be an option for a 1.5L Mahindra diesel engine as well. The upcoming Elantra 2021 is probably one of Hyundai’s most exciting cars in terms of design and performance alike. The sedan is based on the Le Fil Rouge concept which was first showcased at the Geneva Motor Show back in 2018 and in 2020 at the Auto Expo. There is a distinct difference to the look of the new Elantra as the front grille now has a cascading effect while the Hyundai insignia now takes its place on the bonnet rather than the grille. The roofline now slopes like on a coupe and the sharp lines on the side give the sedan a beautifully aggressive look. Completing the look, the rear of the sedan also features sleek and stylish taillights with an LED strip stretching across the entire rear. Hyundai has not skimped out on the features as well with Google Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, BOSE audio system, wireless charging, voice commands, and NFC-enabled digital car keys.
