The current version of Mahindra Scorpio presents a strong front stance with black and chrome grille inserts, LED eyebrows, redesigned tail lamps, ORVMs, skirack and spoilers. Inside the cabin, the Mahindra Scorpio is studded with all black faux leather upholstery, power steering, steering mount controls and enhanced storage spaces all around. Under the hood, the Mahindra Scorpio is powered by 2523cc m2DICR 4 Cylinder 2.5 L Engine, 4 Stroke, Turbocharged, Direct Injection, Common Rail Diesel Engine which generates a maximum power of 75bhp at 3200rpm. This engine generates a maximum torque of 200 Nm at 1400 – 2200 rpm. The Mahindra Scorpio comes with a choice of another 2179cc mHawk 4 Cylinder Engine, Variable Geometry Turbocharger with Intercooler, 4 Valves per Cylinder, Common Rail Direct Injection Technology engine which generates a maximum power of 120 bhp and 140 bhp at  4000 rpm and 3750 rpm respectively. These engines generate a maximum torque of 280 Nm and 320 Nm at 1800 – 2800 rpm and 1500 – 28 rpm respectively. The transmission options on the Scorpio are 5-speed manual and 6-speed manual. In terms of safety, the Mahindra Scorpio comes with dual airbags, engine immobiliser, ABS and anti-theft warning.

  • The ride quality on the Scorpio is not as plush as one would expect. Driving the Scorpio gets bouncy, bumpy & shaky in Indian driving conditions
  • The second-row legroom on the Mahindra Scorpio is very limited for an SUV
  • The 4×4 drive option is only limited to the top (S11) variant
  • The top-end trims of the Scorpio are surprisingly overpriced and sit close to the pricing of competitors such as Mahindra XUV500
  • Many existing Scorpio owners have reported of niggles and issues
  • The after sales service of Mahindra’s vehicles is not at par with the standards
