Accompanying at least half a dozen other carmakers in the country, Volkswagen has now announced its own customer assistance program. Given the current circumstances, the German auto major announced that it is extending its comprehensive service support and warranty period for customers till June 30, 2021. Similar to all other carmakers, Volkswagen India has suffered much in the hands of the Covid-19-induced lockdowns and curfews. As cases continue to rise, almost every state in the country has enforced some kind of a lockdown. This naturally will impact those who need to get their vehicle for standard servicing, especially with the monsoon season fast approaching.
Commenting on the situation was Ashish Gupta, Brand Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars India. He said,
“Keeping in mind these unprecedented times, we have announced an extension to all our comprehensive services and warranties until 30 June 2021. As a customer-centric brand, we prioritize the safety of our customers and our extended service support package is an assurance that all services will be provided as applicable. We understand customer’s requirements and through these initiatives, we aim to provide peace of mind ownership experience to all our valued customers.”
Customers whose car services were due and missed during the period starting from April 1 to May 31, can now avail of the extended service support till June 30, 2021. Moreover, those who have their cars’ standard 2-year warranty coming to an end (between April and May 2021), can purchase an extended warranty till June 30. As for those who already have an extended warranty for their cars, but have the expiry date falling between April 15 and May 30, will have their plan extended till June 30. However, for this to be applicable, one must get in touch with an authorized Volkswagen workshop prior to the expiry of the extension period. Volkswagen India has also extended its roadside assistance support for customers till June 30.
Depending on how things progress, Volkswagen India may even stretch its support to customers beyond June 30. Just recently, the Volkswagen Group donated a million euros to the Indian Government to help the country’s fight against the deadly pandemic. As for its cars, Volkswagen presently retails four different models – the Polo, Vento, T-Roc, and Tiguan Allspace.
The Polo hatchback is undeniably the brand’s most popular and pocketable offering, with prices ranging between Rs 6.16 Lakh and Rs 10.00 Lakh. Meanwhile, the Volkswagen Vento is priced from Rs 10.00 Lakh to Rs 13.83 Lakh, whereas the new T-Roc costs Rs 21.35 Lakh. Lastly, there’s the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace, and it starts at Rs 34.20 Lakh. Keep in mind that all these are ex-showroom, Delhi prices. Soon enough, Volkswagen will be launching the new Taigun and the facelifted Tiguan in India.
