Force Motors in Pune, India, produces the Trax line of "Multi Utility Vehicles" (MUVs). The Trax Cruiser is a budget-friendly MUV with a strong engine from Force. It is a passenger transport vehicle widely utilized in India's rural and semi-urban areas. This MUV has a ground clearance of 160 mm and a fuel tank size of 63.5 litres. The MUV competes with Mahindra Bolero and Tata Sumo Gold in the segment.
Force Motors introduced the Deluxe, an improved version of the Trax Cruiser, in 2015. This revised model, which cost Rs 8.68 lakh (ex-showroom), included considerable interior modifications and minor exterior alterations. It got an air conditioning system that includes vents both at the front and center of the passenger area. The inside was also updated with a dual-tone colour scheme for the dashboard, an enlarged footboard on the sides, and redesigned driver's display.
The Trax Cruiser Deluxe was available in two seating configurations: D+9 and D+12. It was powered by a 2.6-litre four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine with 81 horsepower and 230Nm, coupled to a 5-speed manual transmission.
Fast forward to 2020, Force Motors launched the BS6 updated Trax Cruiser. Aside from the BS6 engine, updated Trax models have a more potent engine, a more spacious cabin thanks to the longer and wider body, slightly more premium interiors, and a new high-tensile C-in-C steel chassis, and the addition of crucial safety features such as ABS along with EBD. It is powered by a Mercedes-Benz-sourced 2.6-liter 4-cylinder common rail diesel engine that produces 90 horsepower @ 3200 rpm and 250 Nm of torque between 1400-2400 rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.

The main difference between the Deluxe and non-Deluxe variants is that the Deluxe version has air conditioning while the non-Deluxe version does not. Pricing for the BS6 Force Trax Cruiser starts at Rs 10.9 lakhs and goes up till Rs 12.73 lakh (Ex-showroom) for the top-of-the-line variant.
Except for the stickers on the exteriors, all four models are identical in terms of appearance and proportions. The number of seats available varies depending on the trim you choose. The BS6 Trax Cruiser is available in two seating capacities: 12+D (driver) and 9+D. The former has bench seats in the last row, whereas the latter has three rows of seating facing the front.
Top features of the Force Trax Cruiser included integrated fog lamps (optional), dual-tone dashboard, dual air conditioning (optional), power windows, power steering, and robust C-in-C ladder frame chassis. The Force Trax Cruiser is the only MUV in India to be offered in a 13 seater configuration. The Track Cruiser features a Mercedes-Benz derived FM 2.6-litre BS6 Diesel Engine that churns out 90 hp @ 3200 RPM and 250 Nm between 1400-2400 rpm. Safety-wise, it comes equipped with ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) and EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution). The Trax Cruiser's main competitor was the Tata Sumo.
Unlike the engines seen on Vans or other large utility vehicles, the motor on the other large people carrying vehicles like vans, the motor on the Trax Cruiser is refined and smooth.

More spacious and comfortable than the Tata Sumo.

Design-wise, the Force Trax Cruiser is quite vanilla. Everything's straightforwardly designed and made only for function, not aesthetic appeal.
The cabin is also extremely functional to the point of being bland, with only the bare necessities and no frills.
The gear lever is a little forward, so you have to stretch a little to reach it.
A high turning radius makes it difficult to put it into parking spots.
The Trax Cruiser is a Multi Utility Vehicle (MUV) built by Force Motors. It's a simple vehicle with sturdy construction that's well-suited to the harsh circumstances of the Indian countryside. Glance a look at it, and you will instantly realize that this is no ordinary MUV. Its style and proportions clearly demonstrate that it is an excellent vehicle for covering long distances with a large number of people on board. In general, it's a plain, massive car with minimal frills, designed solely for utility. The same can be said for the interior, which is comparable to that of any other pickup Van. On the bright side, this cabin can easily seat 13 people in comfort. Overall, the cabin is incredibly practical to the point of being unexciting, with simply the necessities.
A 2.6-litre four-cylinder BS-VI diesel engine that produces 80 Bhp @ 3200 RPM and 250 Nm of torque between 1400-2400 rpm sits beneath the hood of the Trax Cruiser. In terms of driving experience, certainly, the vehicle's big size can be intimidating for someone who isn't used to driving such large vehicles. Still, there's no need to be concerned about driving on regular roads. The only precaution to consider is to be aware of the big turning radius. However, once you're behind the wheel, you'll be impressed by the diesel engine's smoothness and refinement, which delivers linear power. The light clutch operation and precise arrangement of the brake and accelerator pedals also aid.
Overall, the Force Trax Cruiser performs admirably as a utility vehicle, allowing you to move a large group of people without difficulty. It's also a superb choice because of its high reliability, reasonably affordable maintenance and parts, and appealing driving quality. However, don't expect any kind of luxury bits from it. In fact, fleet operators and taxi drivers are the people that will benefit the most from this vehicle.
