The 2017 facelift included integrated LED front and tail lights, better interior quality powered by soft material, a two-tone interior, and improved noise levels. The engines remained the same as in the previous generation.

The latest generation Isuzu MU-X - a big, rugged seven-seater SUV - debuted in the worldwide markets in October 2013. The Isuzu BS6 MU-X is an engine upgrade on the previous model in India. MU-X is designed in Japan by Isuzu. Produced in plants in Thailand, the cars are distributed locally by Isuzu Ute Australia. This car comes with many features, such as luxurious leather seats and easy-to-position front seats. It is most suitable for traveling long distances. The MU-X competes with notable competitors like Ford Endeavour, Volkswagen Tiguan AllSpace, Audi Q2, Skoda Kodiaq, Toyota Fortuner, and Volvo XC40. It has the winning hand in pricing — it undercuts most competitors. The Isuzu MU-X has a robust SUV appearance. The cabin provides a superb view, the middle row has plenty of space, and the third row is comfortable and usable.
The Isuzu MU-X is available in two variants: 4x2 and 4x4. The lowest Isuzu MU-X variant is the 4x2, which costs INR 33.37 Lakhs, while the most costly variant is the Isuzu MU-X 4x4, which costs INR 35.34 Lakhs. It comes in six colors – Nautilus Blue, Galena Gray, Black Mica, Red Spinel Mica, Silver Metallic, and Silky White Pearl.
The flagship MU-X has the same visual shape as the previous generation, with a massive chrome front grille flanked by bi-LED projector headlights and integrated LED DRLs. Other external features include roof rails, side steps, 18-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels with projecting wheel arches, and split tail lamps.
The inside of the SUV has plush leather upholstery for all three rows. The second and the third rows include a one-touch split and fold capability for enhanced convenience. It has a dual dashboard design with an analog-digital instrument cluster, automated temperature control, steering mounted controls, and a start/stop button. ABS with EBD, traction control, six airbags, and ISOFIX anchoring hooks are standard.

There are a lot of safety features available like driver and passenger airbags, child safety locks, anti-lock braking system, brake assist, vehicle stability control system, seat belt warning, day and night rearview mirror, crash sensor, and traction control.
MU-X has three engine options available.
It is attractively designed and looks stylish. The strong hood, coupled with a sharp-angled projector and multi-reflector headlights, adds a flare to the design.
MU-X possesses powerful engines under the hood.
The Isuzu MU-X provides power rides, but that doesn't mean the riders would have to compromise with comfort and convenience.
This model has a roof-mounted monitor with remote control in the upper trim.
The top-of-the-line trim is a little pricey.
AWD is not available with the 1.9-liter engine.
The Isuzus, like many other off-roaders with independent front suspension, may have a relatively limited front CV joint life.
As a contemporary turbo-diesel, it is susceptible to Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) system issues.
The Isuzu MU-X 2018 is a facelift version of the SUV. It has a new appearance on the outside and extra internal amenities. On the aspect of safety, the vehicle has improved technical features. Interior styling adjustments make it look both comfortable luxurious. The Isuzu MU-X 2018 models are available in 4x2 and 4x4 configurations. Overall, the butch SUV preserves its character while adding a few extra features.
The new Isuzu MU-X has a fuel mileage of 13.8 km/l. The other diesel manual and automatic models in this segment offer 14.24 and 12.9 km per liter. The petrol manual and automatic models return 10.01 and 10.26 km per liter, respectively.
The MU-X outshines because of its lively and futuristic look. Other cars in this segment that offer eight seats are less expensive; however, the difference isn't significant enough to make us leap with excitement because of the little too laid-back designs and exteriors.
When compared with its competitors, the Isuzu Mu-X has several unique features. These include butchy looks, size, and proportions. However, when it comes to factors such as pricing and power, it falls among Toyota, Ford, and Volvo.
The MU-X checks all the boxes for a practical SUV as an overall package. It looks great and has just the appropriate number of features. The difficulty for Isuzu will be to create a favorable brand impression in a category where other manufacturers have been present for a long time. Knowing the Japanese automaker and its skill in SUVs and pickup trucks, the MU-X is an obvious winner, but it has a lot of responsibility.
