Maybach Motorenbau, a German car maker that is no more functional today, currently sits as a sub-brand of luxury car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz. A subsidiary of Luftschiffbau Zeppelin GmbH till the year 1918, the luxury marquee was firstly founded in 1909 by Wilhelm Maybach. This time, Maybach borrowed many vital components from Mercedes-Benz. However, the undesired sales forced Maybach to come back a second time as a sub-brand of Mercedes-Benz, a part of Daimler AG. The second hand Maybach of that era still has a lot of value as classics in today’s time.
At present, Daimler produces its elite saloon Mercedes-Benz S-Class, a high-end ultra-luxury edition, under the Mercedes-Maybach badge. The numbers, 57 and 62 signify the length of the cars—57 means 5.7 meters and 62 means 6.2 meters.
