Volkswagen Virtus . Reasons why...Reliable manual gearbox over the DSG,German build quality assures good high-speed stability. High ground clearance eliminates the need to scrap the underbelly - Good cornering despite a raised ground clearance - The engine can give competition to top-end luxury cars - Despite having good handling, the ride quality is also good. Fantastic German car
I use the Virtus for city and occasional highway drives. It feels light and responsive, with solid mid-range torque. City mileage hovers around 10–12 kmpl and highway settles near 18 kmpl, depending on fuel quality. Interior feels ergonomic but plastics feel dated. Brake performance and safety features like six airbags and ESC offer confidence. A little noisy over uneven roads but enjoyable to drive.
Feels like a proper driver’s car. Superb engine, good mileage, and solid build. The DSG is quick but can be jerky at low speeds. Looks classy, especially in GT trim. Very happy with the purchase.
My current favourite car irrespective of price is VW Virtus. I like the quality of parts and exterior VW Group maintains in their cars their engineering is better than other brands I feel. This results in better ownership experience for long term. Also since their build quality and engineering is good, they have also been rated 5 star in terms of safety. Since Virtus is a gorgeous looking car I like the most from VW’s line up. VW cars has longer service intervals and also better warranty coverage especially for paints. This alone tells us how much confidence they have in their vehicles. They do charge a premium (also one of the reasons to not sell in great numbers in India) for the cars but also provide better ownership experience overall.
Recently bought the Virtus GT and absolutely love the driving experience. The 1.5 TSI engine is smooth and powerful, especially on highways. The interiors feel premium, and the touchscreen and digital cockpit add a modern touch. If you enjoy driving, this car won’t disappoint.

The review highlights the fun driving experience, efficient braking, and impressive safety ratings of the vehicle. The infotainment system and aesthetics are praised, while minor drawbacks include smaller ORVMs, AC performance, and touch controls. Overall, the pros outweigh the cons, making it a satisfying purchase.
