Mahindra Auto sold a total of 5,51,487 SUVs in India in the financial year 2024-25, including both ICE and electric vehicles, as per data released by Auto Punditz.
Of this total sales figure, 1,13,268 units were petrol vehicles, 4,25,329 units were diesel vehicles, and 12,890 were EVs.
This translates to a 77.1% share of diesel SUVs, while 20.5% were petrol, and the remaining 2.3% were electric. Mahindra is the only multi-fuel manufacturer that sold more diesel vehicles than any other type.

The only model that sold more petrol units than diesel ones was the Mahindra XUV 3XO, with diesel accounting for 31.1% of total sales.
Mahindra is reportedly planning to soon launch a couple of hybrid SUVs in India, based on both its ICE as well as electric models. The Mahindra XUV 3XO hybrid is likely to be the first one to be launched in the near future.
