The Citroen Basalt X is launched in three variants — You, Plus, and Max — with prices starting at Rs 7.95 lakh and going up to Rs 12.90 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Prices reflect the updated 40% GST on mid-sized vehicles. Multiple engine and transmission options are available across the variants.
The Basalt X sees significant interior upgrades, including a redesigned dashboard with soft-touch materials and tan leatherette upholstery. New features include engine start/stop button, ventilated front seats, surround view camera (optional), cruise control, floating-type instrument cluster, and auto-dimming IRVM.
The Basalt X retains the 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 110PS and up to 205Nm torque with the automatic gearbox. Lower variants continue with the 82PS 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine paired only with a 5-speed manual transmission.
While the exterior design remains largely unchanged, the Basalt X gets exclusive 'X' badging to differentiate it from the standard model. The focus is primarily on improved cabin experience rather than visual overhaul.
Bookings for the 2025 Basalt X are now open online and at dealerships. Test drives will commence by late September 2025, with deliveries set to begin around the festive season, aiming to boost Citroen's sales during the peak buying period.
