Kia has confirmed the India launch of its first locally-developed electric vehicle, the Carens Clavis EV. The EV is expected to debut in the second half of 2025 and will be designed specifically for the Indian market.
The Carens Clavis EV will follow Kia’s “Opposites United” design philosophy, mirroring the styling of the recently unveiled ICE Carens Clavis. However, it could feature EV details like active air flaps as well as aero wheels.
Notable features could include a semi-powered driver’s seat, ventilated front seats, a large touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, panoramic sunroof, and second-row tumble function. Level-2 ADAS is also expected.
The Carens Clavis EV is expected to share its platform and powertrain with the Hyundai Creta Electric, which includes 42kWh and 51.4kWh battery options and a motor with 135PS or 171PS outputs.
Our sources confirmed that Kia India will launch the Carens Clavis year in 2025, with the market unveiling taking place towards the second half of the year 2025.
