The 2025 Tata Altroz CNG comes with mostly the same specs as before, but its mileage has improved slightly. However, its main competitor, the Maruti Baleno, still leads when it comes to fuel efficiency.
The pre-facelift Tata Altroz CNG had a claimed mileage of 26.2 km/kg. The new Altroz CNG features a slightly improved claimed mileage of 26.90 km/kg.
According to ARAI, the Maruti Baleno's mileage is claimed to be 30.61 km/kg, which means it offers 3.71 km/kg better fuel efficiency than the new Altroz CNG.
The Tata Altroz is equipped with a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder iCNG engine, which is exclusively paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. When running on CNG, it produces 73.5 PS of power and 103 Nm of torque. On petrol, the engine delivers 88 PS of power and 115 Nm of torque.
The Maruti Baleno CNG produces 77.5PS of power and 98.5Nm of torque when operating on CNG. In petrol mode, it generates 89.7PS of power and 113Nm of torque. The vehicle is paired exclusively with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
The price of the Tata Altroz CNG starts at Rs 7.89 lakh and goes up to Rs 11.09 lakh. In comparison, the Maruti Baleno CNG comes with fewer variants, with prices ranging from Rs 8.44 lakh to Rs 9.37 lakh.
