Toyota India has put out a recall of 1,906 units of the Vellfire manufactured between July 19, 2025 and May 19, 2025, and 5 units of the Camry manufactured between July 16, 2024 and August 1, 2024.
Lexus has also recalled 246 units of the Lexus LX 350h manufactured between April 5, 2024 and January 29, 2025, and 2 units of the Lexus RX crossover manufactured between June 25, 2024 and June 28, 2024.
This recall isn’t just limited to India-spec cars but is part of a larger recall by the Japanese automaker that involves tens of thousands of cars.
The reason for this recall is a software issue in the combination meter, which displays important information such as the car’s speed, engine rpms, various indicators, and warnings.
Toyota India has said that it will reach out to owners of the affected cars via its dealer partners, and either reprogram or replace the faulty combination meter. Alternatively, owners can contact their nearest dealership or Toyota’s customer care centre.
Lexus India has said that its relationship managers will individually reach out to the respective owners for redressal. Alternatively, owners can contact their relationship managers or reach out to Lexus India.
