The Fortuner is the most popular car in its segment, and has been so for many years now, despite being an aged product. It is offered with both petrol and diesel engine options in India.
Toyota has announced that it has sold over 3 million units of the Fortuner across variants, powertrains, and generations, since its launch back in 2009.
The Toyota Fortuner price in India starts at Rs 35.37 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), and goes up till Rs 51.94 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the GR-Sport trim.
The Fortuner comes with the option of a 2.8-litre diesel engine with a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic, along with a 2.7-litre petrol engine with a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic.
It has been almost nine years since the launch of the second generation, and the third generational model is soon expected to be here, with significant exterior, interior, as well as powertrain changes.
The next gen model might also get a mild-hybrid setup, which is likely to be the same one that was recently launched on the Toyota Hilux in the United Kingdom.
