Skoda India has put out a voluntary recall of a total of 860 units of the Kylaq, Slavia, and Kushaq models over potentially faulty seatbelt components.
Skoda cites a potentially cracked metal base frame of the rear seatbelts, and an incorrect part installation in the front and/or rear seatbelts. This raises a serious concern and could prove to be dangerous in the case of an accident.
The units affected involve models manufactured between December 1, 2021, and May 31, 2025.
This isn’t the carmaker’s first recall due to faulty seatbelts. Skoda recalled 25,722 units of the same models back in May 2025.
Sister-brand Volkswagen has also recalled units of the Virtus and Taigun manufactured in the same time period. The Slavia-Virtus and Kushaq-Taigun are fundamentally the same cars.
You can check out if your car’s affected by entering your car’s VIN number on Skoda India’s official website. You can also reach out to your nearest dealership. Skoda should soon be contacting affected owners and offer appropriate remedies. This would be at no cost to the owners.
