Citroen Basalt Vision concept revealed globally

Citroen first showed the Basalt Vision concept in March 2024, then gave it a global debut on August 2. The India launch followed on August 30. The coupe-style SUV sits on the familiar CMP platform. At the Sao Paulo Motor Show, the carmaker brought the Basalt Vision back into the spotlight. This time it looked noticeably sportier, with a few new design touches and a striking yellow paint job that immediately grabbed attention.

Citroen Basalt Vision design

The new Citroen Basalt Vision looks much sharper than before. Citroen has dropped the suspension slightly, darker skid plates and chevrons, a revised rear with a darker tail-lamp strip, and a tougher bumper with dual chrome exhaust outlets. Citroen also added 18-inch chrome alloys, gloss black cladding, updated door protectors, double-chevron inspired decals, and VISION badges on the fenders.

The new Basalt Vision also features Citroen’s exclusive André Red highlights on the spoiler, brake callipers, and hood decals. The vibrant red stands out sharply against the black roof and body accents, giving the SUV a bold look.

It’s exciting to see this concept return in a bolder form. The earlier version is also already on Indian roads, and the Basalt Vision concept feels like a clear evolution of the original design. The carmaker could choose to release it in special editions or other variations, keeping the idea fresh. There’s also reason to believe this model could find a place in other markets, expanding its reach beyond the current lineup.

New Citroen Basalt Vision India launch possible?

There’s not much to say yet about the Citroen Basalt Vision launch in India since no official details have been released. The company recently brought in the Basalt X edition, and the Vision could follow a similar path with minor updates. It might show up as another limited-edition model, but there’s also a chance that Citroen has something more substantial in store.
