Tesla has entered the Indian car market with the Model Y, with prices starting from Rs 59.89 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
What’s strange is the fact that Tesla is demanding up to Rs 1.95 lakh extra for select exterior colours, and Rs 95,000 extra for the dual-tone interior option.
If you opt for any colour other than the standard Stealth Grey option, you’ll have to pay a premium. This ranges from Rs 95,000 for Pearl White Multi-Coat and Diamond Black, to Rs 1.25 lakh for Glacier Blue, to Rs 1.85 lakh for Quicksilver and Ultra Red.
If you opt for the dual-tone black and white option for the interior instead of the standard all-black option, you’ll have to shell out another Rs 95,000.
Tesla is also offering a self driving capability option on the Model Y for an additional Rs 6 lakh, which will see constant updates over time.
Excluding the options that we spoke of in the previous slides, prices for the Model Y range from Rs 59.89 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the RWD variant to Rs 67.89 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the RWD Long Range variant.
