The Carens Clavis EV is the newest Kia car in India, and is essentially an electric version of the ICE Carens Clavis MPV.
The Clavis EV gets its powertrains from the Hyundai Creta Electric, which include a 135PS motor with a 42kWh battery pack, and a 171PS motor with a 51.4kWh battery pack.
Kia claims a range of 404 kilometres with the smaller 42kWh battery pack, and 490 kilometres with the larger 51.4kWh battery pack, as per ARAI’s MIDC testing cycles.
The carmaker claims a 10% to 80% charging time of 39 minutes using a 100kW DC fast charger. Home charging options include a 7.4kW and an 11kW AC charger. Claimed 10% to 100% charging time with the 11kW charger stands at 4 hours (42kWh) / 4 hours 45 minutes (51.4kWh).
A few key features of the MPV include V2L capability, Level-2 ADAS, blind spot monitors, 8-speaker Bose sound system, one-touch tumbling second row seats, boss mode, ventilated front seats, and more.
Prices for the variants with the smaller battery pack are Rs 17.99 lakh and Rs 20.49 lakh, while those for the variants with the larger pack are Rs 22.49 lakh and Rs 24.49 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi.
