A significant part of Tesla’s success goes to its network of fast chargers that it calls Superchargers, and they’ll be making their way to India, as confirmed by the carmaker.
The first set of Superchargers will be seen in Mumbai and Delhi NCR, with four stations in each region. Each station will further have four Superchargers.
The first four locations in Mumbai to get the Superchargers will be Lower Parel, Bandra Kurla, Navi Mumbai, and Thane.
The first four locations in Delhi NCR to get the Superchargers will be Aerocity (Delhi), Saket (Delhi), Gurugram, and Noida.
Tesla V4 Superchargers have the capability to deliver up to 500kW to Tesla cars. It can add a range of about 267 kilometres to the Model Y in 15 minutes.
Tesla’s first car in India, the Model Y, is being offered in RWD and RWD Long Range versions, with WLTP-claimed ranges 500km and 622km respectively. Prices start from Rs 59.89 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the RWD variant, and at Rs 67.89 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the RWD Long Range variant, before options.
