Honda has reduced the price of the City Hybrid by Rs 95,010, bringing the ex-showroom price to Rs 19.90 lakh. This is a 4.56% reduction from the previous Rs 20.85 lakh price tag after a hike in May 2025.
The price cut may hint at local assembly of the strong hybrid powertrain in India, which could help lower production costs. Though not confirmed officially, Honda's recent statements suggest a growing focus on strong hybrids tailored for the Indian market.
The City Hybrid uses a 1.5-litre petrol engine paired with two electric motors and a Li-ion battery, delivering a combined 126PS and 253Nm via an e-CVT. It boasts a claimed fuel efficiency of 27.26 kmpl.
Key features include six airbags, rear disc brakes, and Honda Sensing ADAS, LaneWatch camera, electric parking brake, 8.0-inch touchscreen, wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay and wireless smartphone charger.
With standard City sales , this strategic price cut aims to boost hybrid sales. Honda seems to be betting on strong hybrids as a mid-term solution in India while evaluating plug-in options for select markets.
