Honda Cars India has recently increased the price of the City Hybrid by Rs 29,900, bringing its new ex-showroom price in New Delhi to Rs 20.85 lakh. With this revision, the City Hybrid is now offered in just a single, fully loaded ZX variant.
The Honda City Hybrid was launched in May 2022 at an introductory price of Rs 19.50 lakh. Subsequently, Honda expanded the lineup by introducing a more affordable V variant, priced at Rs 18.89 lakh, which is no longer available.
Honda is reportedly exploring the option of locally assembling the strong hybrid powertrain in India. According to Honda Cars India President and CEO Takuya Tsumura, local production would help reduce tax burdens, making the model more competitively priced.
These include six airbags, Honda Sensing ADAS technology, rear disc brakes, and a lane watch camera. The cabin offers a semi-digital instrument cluster and an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Under the hood, the City Hybrid is powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine paired with two electric motors and a lithium-ion battery pack. The hybrid system delivers a combined power output of 126PS and a peak torque of 253Nm.
