Following the GST rate cut on cars in India, Hyundai Motor India has announced it will pass the full benefit of the reduction on to its customers. Prices across its passenger vehicle lineup will reflect the revised tax, with no markups or delays.
Hyundai has cut prices across its lineup. Hatchbacks like the Grand i10 Nios and i20 have dropped by up to Rs 73,808 and Rs 1,08,116, respectively. On the sedan side, Verna’s price has fallen by up to Rs 60,640, while Aura’s discount reaches Rs 78,465. SUVs like Creta ICE, Alcazar, Exter, Venue, and Tucson see cuts between Rs 72,145 and Rs 2,40,303.
The revised prices for Hyundai cars will take effect starting September 22, 2025.
GST on small cars has been reduced from 28% to 18%, cutting tax by 10%. This applies to cars under 4,000mm with petrol engines up to 1,200cc or diesel up to 1,500cc. Larger cars over 4,000mm were previously taxed at 28% plus up to 22% cess, bringing the total close to 50%. Now, those with engines over 1,500cc are taxed at a flat 40%.
While GST rates on ICE vehicles have come down, electric vehicles remain unchanged at 5%. No revisions there.
