Hyundai Creta EV is the South Korean carmaker’s upcoming electric vehicle in India that is also set to be its first EV to be positioned for the masses. The Creta EV is heavily based on its ICE counterpart.
The Creta EV borrows most of its interior panels and functions from the 2024 Hyundai Creta. This includes the 10.25-inch infotainment system, 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, controls for the air-conditioning system, and door panels.
As seen in the spy shots, the upcoming Creta EV gets a three-spoke round steering wheel with the four-dot Hyundai logo at the centre. The central console in front of the armrest also gets a redesign with the drive selector making its way to the back of the steering wheel.
Hyundai has not yet released any details about the Creta EV’s features, though it is expected that it will carry all the features from the ICE Creta such as front ventilated seats, dual-zone climate control, 6 airbags, 360-degree parking cameras, panoramic sunroof, and Bose sound system. There are additional features likely to be offered owing to the increase in price over the ICE Creta.
While there is no official confirmation from Hyundai on this front as well, reports suggest that the Creta EV could come with a 45kWh battery pack. To ensure affordability, the Creta EV is likely to boast a single motor powering the front wheels, offering 138PS of power and 255Nm of torque.
Judging by the recent production-ready spy shots and latest reports, Hyundai is expected to launch the Creta EV sometime in 2025, with the EV entering production later this year. It will compete with the new Tata Curvv EV and the upcoming Maruti Suzuki eVX.
