According to the latest reports, Hyundai is developing the third-gen Hyundai Creta under the codename SX3, with a launch in India expected by 2027. With this generational update, the new Creta will get a hybrid powertrain, expanding its lineup beyond petrol and diesel. Meanwhile, the EV version of this model is already available for retail.
The next-gen Hyundai Creta will likely stick with the current engine lineup — 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol, 1.5L diesel, and 1.5L turbo petrol. In addition, it will get a new 1.5-litre petrol-hybrid setup, adding more efficiency and options for buyers.
Since the Creta Hybrid is expected to feature a strong hybrid powertrain, it’s likely to deliver a noticeable bump in fuel efficiency—both in city drives and out on the highways—making it more economical than its petrol and diesel counterparts.
Upon launch, the Hyundai Creta hybrid will go head-to-head with models like the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, upcoming Kia Seltos hybrid, Renault Duster hybrid, and others in the segment.
Apart from these, there have also been reports that the Hyundai Creta EV is set to get a mid-cycle facelift in 2027. The update is expected to bring fresh tweaks to its exterior and interior design and updated features. Additionally, improvements on the battery front are also expected to deliver a longer driving range.
