Hyundai India is likely to launch the new Palisade SUV in India by 2028 as per a recent report by Autocar India. This full-size SUV will serve as the brand’s flagship model and will also mark Hyundai's entry into the hybrid segment. The Palisade comes as part of Hyundai India’s aggressive 26-model strategy through 2030.
After losing ground to Tata and Mahindra in recent years, Hyundai is all set with a bold plan. With 26 new launches in the pipeline, the Palisade is a statement product and will boast a commanding road presence and luxurious experience.
The latest-gen Palisade now gets an all-new 2.5L turbo-petrol hybrid powertrain with 334hp of maximum power and a peak torque output of 460Nm. With a claimed fuel economy of 14.1kmpl, the new Palisade is said to deliver 1,015km range on a single tank. The India-spec model is likely to get an all-wheel drive setup with a 6-speed automatic gearbox along with a series of features like terrain modes and advanced ride/handling aids like e-Dynamic Drive.
Massive in size and bold in design, the Palisade looks like a Range Rover rival with Hyundai badging. The interior will offer up to 8 seats, captain chairs, dual 12.3-inch screens, fingerprint-based ignition, 14-speaker Bose audio, and a full ADAS suite.
While it is difficult to comment on the expected Hyundai Palisade price in India at the moment, reports suggest that Hyundai might place it closer to the Fortuner when it comes to pricing while local production and exports are also on the cards to manage costs.
